Character Fashion
Aug. 14th, 2008 03:05 pmI wussed out on the peaches today. All I was doing was sitting in the shade and it was still miserable. Ick.
Project Runway - 5.05
Liked: Blayne/Leanne, Jerell/Stella, Kenley/Keith, Suede/Terri
Borderline: Daniel/Kelli, Joe/Korto
- I loved Keith's design. It was pretty and different and just polished looking. I also liked that he and Kenley were able to find a balance.
- Since I was really enjoying Kelli's personality, I was sad to see her go. I would have much preferred that Daniel be cut, but since Kelli was the team leader it only makes sense that the design flaws be faulted to her.
That does not mean that Daniel has any taste. There's also something about his greasy-haired, wide-eyed look that puts me off. Eh.
- Kenley's giggle-fit was regarding Daniel's taste was pretty funny.
- I liked Blayne's outfit, I just don't think it was entirely challenge appropriate. Which is kind of sad, since Brooke was obviously willing to give it a chance. I guess it just didn't come off as polished as she was hoping it would. Either that or she is just crazy and misleading.
- Blayne. Yakima is not really a small town. Yes, it is dinky and gives off a small-town vibe. This doesn't really mean much in comparison to the other actual small towns in central Washington. There's a Target and a theater with a stage on which David Sedaris has done readings. There are places to eat besides McDonald's and Denny's. And, yes, there is a difference between small and dinky. At least in my mind.
Anyhoo.
- Loved Jerell's design. I would have been good with him winning, too. Also, just looking at the picture on the website now...I love the shoes.
- I mostly liked Korto's design, but it fell a little flat for me with her attitude toward Joe. Sure, Joe probably should have said something sooner. But geez, lady, don't get your panties in a twist when you have immunity. It's a waste of energy. I did like the color and the top overall. It was the sleeves that were too much for me.
- I liked Terri's design a lot. It's one of the types of tops I'll gravitate toward when shopping. Although I did think it was a little floppy under the arms. Like she could store things there if she wanted.
