Doctor Who - The Stolen Earth

Oh god, next week's season finale is going to kill me, isn't it?

I was really excited to see everyone involved here and working together. Flailed a little when Sarah Jane and Luke showed up. And later Harriet Jones.

Is it weird that I kind of love when the Daleks show up around characters that have dealt with them before because of how terrified everyone becomes? The look on Sarah Jane's face, for example. And the way Jack grabbed Ianto and Gwen and kissed their foreheads. Because they both knew exactly what kind of trouble they were all in.

Though sometimes I'm kind of like, "Daleks? Again? Really?" It's worse with the Slitheen. Need a bad guy? Bring in the Slitheen!

I am once again really disappointed with the preview for next week. Way to give things away! Geeeez. They couldn't just end it with the Doctor regenerating, they had to go and give us a preview. Though the preview does make you curious about exactly what happens, it's still giving away more than I'd like.

SGA - "Broken Ties"

In all honesty, I didn't exactly give this episode my complete attention because I was afraid I'd be bored by it. Which basically just means that I couldn't completely stop playing Civilization Revolution and was multi-tasking.

Overall, I really liked it. Finally felt some of my old enthusiasm for it coming back. Except you know who a lot the flailing was centered around? Woolsey!

Now I'm wondering if Woolsey's going to end up being my favorite thing about the new season. Hmm. So far that could be the case. I know I've said it before, but I love Robert Picardo. His characters have made me laugh and cry, and I'm really looking forward to where Woolsey goes the rest of the season.

Randomly:

- Loved the Ronon and Teyla scene at the very beginning! So happy and comfortable and carefree! But of course it couldn't last.

- John and Rodney in the mess and Rodney complaining about not being able to figure out how to help Ronon. John's, "I'm not taking a bath with you." And how Rodney completely ignored it. Then the final scene with Rodney in the tub. Aw.

Of course, in my mind after John sees Ronon in the infirmary he makes his way to Rodney's quarters only to let himself in and find bubble-covered Rodney.

- I laughed a lot when John told the Wraith, "It'd be creepy and unexpected if you knelt instead."

- Rodney's face when John says he's going down to talk to Ronon. Aw.

- John and Ronon. Ronon calling him "buddy."

- Rodney telling Ronon about piano.

- Jason Mamoa really impressed me in this episode. There were several times when a crack in his voice could've broken my heart. And that scene with John while he was strapped down? Whoa.

- Teyla! Teyla and Kanaan! Teyla and Woolsey! Basically Teyla was awesome. Even if I was having a moment of, "Wait, why does she have to pick one or the other?" But maybe that was just me not paying complete attention. Anyway, I really loved her scenes with Woolsey. (Really liked his line about empathy and sympathy.) And the fact that Kanaan is actually going to be involved.

- I just have to mention Woolsey again. I liked that he's still trying for some sense of order and that John's trying to adjust to that a little. Poor Woolsey with the doors, though! I thought his hesitation at the end was funny. As was the bit with the baby and being unable to find the mess. I'm sure if I moved to Atlantis, I'd get lost all of the time.

Plus, we got some character background. Ex-wife. Dog. Animal lovers can't be all that bad. And, wow, those are some quarters of his.

Y'know, the more I think about this one, the more I like it. Everyone involved, guest actors included, was just spot-on.

Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes were on The Soup. With Keith Olbermann. Hilarious!
