Work was pretty good yesterday. The morning was really slow - two people in the library! And only one was actually there for the services we provide! But between noon and 5:30 there were 77 people. I had to count them for some library usage thing.

My favorite part was when one of the patrons, a woman I've known for many years, brought in a bag of books to return and had two to donate. I didn't really pay any attention to the donations at the time, just set them aside to deal with later. I'm kind of glad the patron was gone once I did look at them because, wow, I laughed a lot when I read the title. Forbidden: The Billionaire's Virgin Princess.

Now that's a title. At first I was like, "You're kidding, right?" But no, they obviously weren't.

So of course I had to look it up on Amazon. Here's the product description:

Sebastian Hawk is a master in business and in the bedroom. There is no place for emotion in his world.

Lina is a headstrong and reckless princess in need of protection and Sebastian is called in to provide round-the-clock security. Her provocative innocence is too enticing, and Sebastian loses his legendary self-control and beds her...only to discover she's still a virgin....

That's special. I'm sure I've read fic like that, too. And clicked the back button.

And, y'know, I think that may be connected to why I avoid a lot of Torchwood fanfiction. There's a lot of stuff that comes off as poorly written romance novel, but with characters I love getting butchered to suit the author's purpose. Saaaaad.

I like the use of the ellipsis. It makes it so much more provocative and intriguing. Yeah. I would have gotten rid of that book too.

Haha! I know, the ellipsis totally drag me in! Kicking and screaming.

When I told my mom about it last night, she said, "Did you ask her if she was was sure she wanted to get rid of that gem?"

Now what would you write about with that title, I wonder? Jaime and Caitlin and I have been trying to figure it out for days. I was expecting it to be about some billionaire's daughter who was horribly sick of being an untouchable virgin because her father is scarily protective. But then again, I recently reread the princess diaries, so that could be it.

I hope the 77 people weren't all in a big crowd. The library's not so big. I wouldn't want you to have been nearly trampled by the stampede.

That's totally what I was thinking! I think that would be much more interesting than the actual description. Then there would be wacky hijinks as she tried to get away from her scarily protective father and finally lose her virginity. It'd be like one of those high school/college humor movies. Except with a girl.

It's maybe a little scary how easily I can picture this in my head.

And thankfully the 77 people were spread out. Though at one point there was maybe, oh, 15 in there at one time. Too many people in line!

Hey, you're not moving anywhere in the next few months, right?

Well, now that there's a better idea out there than the one that was written, you should probably get to writing. I mean, there are loads of things with the same title, so you could probably get away with it. I see the movie version as being done similarly to Sex and the City where we can hear the girl's subconscious/hindsight voice overs.

I won't be moving anywhere before January for sure. From there, it sort of looks like I'll stay in Spokane, but I have no idea who it will be with/if I'll end up with a place of my own. What's up?

I just have this vision of the virgin princess being all peeved about her dad and complaining to her couple of handmaids/friends and then them all being like, "Let's make a pact..."

And, yes, voice overs.

As for the moving, I was just curious. I want to come visit and that's not really possible if you're living out of state.
