Loose Ends

annundrielSo continuing from my last post about the season five premiere of SGA, what I really want to know is what happened to Kanaan. Mom and I were talking about the flaws in the episode over breakfast and we both said that what bothered us the most was the lack of follow-through with Kanaan.
Did they beam him up with the team and bring him back to Atlantis? If so, shouldn't he have been around with Teyla and the baby in the infirmary? Even if they're treating him for whatever things Michael did to him, John was in the same part of the infirmary, so I don't see why the father of Teyla's baby shouldn't get an appearance. Or at least a mention.
Or did they beam him up and drop him some place else? In which case, why?
Or did they leave him on the hive ship to die? Which doesn't make sense to me since Teyla spent the majority of last season searching for him and obviously cares/cared about him.
I just wish they'd follow-up on this character stuff. And, sure, maybe we'll get more in the next episode or later on in the season, but it seems like a loose end they could have given two seconds to and taken care of.
