annundrielI'm currently in the process of flipping my entire room around. It is...not quite as hard as I was expecting. But it's still work. Especially the emptying of the bookcases.
The whole point of the exercise is to make room for the new desk and hutch/bookcase that I got last week. I wanted a new desk because I wanted someplace a little more private to work on writing and other creative pursuits. At the moment, the only place I have that doesn't involve lounging on my bed is the kitchen table. Which just does not work. Unless it is late at night and everyone else has gone to bed. It's such a small thing, but I get really annoyed when I'm on a roll either reading or writing and someone clonks into the kitchen. Ugh.
And the surface of the desk in my room was being used as more shelving and storage space with no room for my actual laptop and not at all conducive to anything except stress when I looked at it. So I wanted a desk with a hutch. I found exactly what I was looking for last weekend, which was kind of amazing. But we have to move everything around because the free wall has a window at the top and the hutch is too tall to fit under it.
Fun times. And that is what I'm doing today. So while I continue to move things and vacuum, the rest of the family is going to pick up my new furniture. Yea! I am excited.
