If I didn't already love Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and Conan O'Brien, I certainly would now. Plus, though I missed the fight last night, I did get to see Jon interview Tim Gunn. I can't remember his answer to Jon's question about why we should care about Fashion Week, but I loved it. He's just so articulate and intelligent and put together. Oh, Tim.
I miss Santino and his Tim impressions.
Honestly, I'm finding this season of Project Runway a tiny bit dull. There's just no one that I really love. I like a couple of the designers more than others, but it's not a great deal more. Although I do really dislike Christian. Mostly I want to whack him upside the head. Sometimes he shows signs of being less annoying, but then he goes and does something arrogant and immature and I'm back to wanting to smack him. And while I've liked several of his designs, I'm not blown away or anything. Which is basically how I feel about pretty much everyone so far. Sad.
Meanwhile, that SGA season five casting spoiler? I hadn't really been following the situation, though I knew Sam wasn't coming back, but boy was I surprised when I read that Woolsey's going to be in charge. And you know what? I am totally behind that. For several reasons.
1) I have loved Robert Picardo since he was the Doctor on Voyager. In fact, when SGA first started, McKay reminded me a bit of the Doctor. Or Hewlett reminded me a bit of Picardo. Or a combination of those things. Point being, even when Woolsey showed up on SG-1 I was set to at least tolerate him because of my great fondness for RP.
2) I think this'll cause some interesting conflicts that we don't get with Sam and didn't get with Elizabeth. At least, hopefully the conflicts will be interesting and not just cringe inducing.
3) Having Sheppard or McKay take the position would just...not work. For me, at least. I mean, sure, they would deserve it, but given the amount of action they've both seen and how hands-on they like to be, I don't think they'd handle that sort of leadership position very well. It'd be like sticking O'Neill behind a desk. They work better on a team.
And really, if Sheppard or McKay wasn't going to get the position, who else would? Caldwell? Which, okay, that would work, too. But without thinking about it too hard, as it's late and there are other things I'd like to get done, there aren't a lot of recurring characters that could fill the role. Woolsey's fine by me. Yes, he's inexperienced and can be a pain, but hopefully the writers will allow him to grow.
Also, House was totally wonderful tonight.

Date: 2008-02-06 05:38 pm (UTC)Did you see the House episode after the Super Bowl with Mira Sorvino? I don't watch the show, but we were waiting for Lyssa to open her birthday presents at the commercial breaks and it took the whole ep to do so, but that was quite the fun, interesting episode.

Date: 2008-02-07 09:48 am (UTC)I did see House after the Super Bowl. And really enjoyed it. I'm a big House fan generally, but that one was excellent. Especially with House and Wilson being in tip-top banter shape. They kill me.
