I seriously don't like telephones. At all. I just made a complete fool of myself leaving a message for my soon-to-be roommate. *hits self in head repeatedly* Give me writing any day to actual words. Well, OK, that's not always true, but right now I feel a heck of a lot more comfortable with written words than spoken ones. With written words you have time to choose which word is exactly right for the situation, you can think about how you want to phrase something. When speaking that can't really happen. You don't generally know what you will talk about during a given day. People with a larger vocabulary do alright, as do people who are well educated. But sometimes that doesn't even help. I like to think of my vocabulary as fairly large (larger than a lot of people I know) and my education as decent (more decent than same said people), but that doesn't stop me from getting flustered when I speak and end up sounding like a fool.
But, you know, that's only part of the time. The other part of the time people are staring and wondering, "What did she just say?" Using big words during classes is fun. :D
Yesterday I went to Moses Lake with Mom. It was fun. We went and saw Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life. It was better than the first one. It had to be better than the first one. Of course, I only saw the first one after I found out that Chris Barrie was in it. Naturally I had to see the second one just for him. *fangirl-ish type sound* (Thought it was funny that Hillary gradually lost more clothes through the course of the movie.) Also had to see it because Ciaran Hinds was the bad guy! *even more fangirl-ish type sound* It was fun. Then we went to dinner and Hastings. I bought an illustrated Terry Pratchett book. (The Last Hero if I remember right.) Will have to finish Lt. Hornblower before I read anymore Pratchett though. Anyhoo. We can home and watched Persuasion because I felt like seeing Hinds as a non-evil character. Loooooove that movie. It appeals to my happily romantic little heart.
Speaking of happy little romantic things...I watched Bridget Jones's Diary almost all of the way through for the third time in as many days. They keep playing it on TV. Loooooove that movie too.
It is also still hotter than anything. Or it feels that way. Yuck.
