Cold Fingers
Nov. 13th, 2007 11:33 pmI'm feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment, which is ridiculous as I have absolutely nothing to be overwhelmed by. I think it's the result of having several e-mails flagged for follow-up that just keep sitting there and staring at me when I sign in. But those aren't even scary e-mails, just fun ones. With writing and Sheppard and McKay and silliness.
It's just a mood.
Meanwhile in TV land, sometimes I am torn by Nip/Tuck. I love Sean and Christian, but I occasionally forget that they are both capable of equally repulsive behavior. And I guess having them go from very sweet and apparently selfless to mean and shallow shows that they're more human. That's fine. But it does feel strange to spend half of an episode going "Aw, Sean" and the next half going "Oh my God, I can't believe you did that!" Not talking about tonight's ep, either. Just in general.
So those guys can continue to be seriously fucked up, but I'm realizing more and more how much I dislike Julia. Every time she opens her mouth to talk about sex and sexuality and love, I want to slap her. She's so condescending, like she's suddenly gotten it all figured out and she's sorry no one else can reach the same level of personal enlightenment because they're not her. Ick.
Also, this whole lesbian thing? I'm all for it and the representation of different types of couples and relationships on television. But, again, Julia's attitude ruins things for me. Mom and I were talking about this tonight. Particularly Julia telling Sean that she must not have been happy with him because she was missing a woman in her life. Well, sure. But maybe there was something in Sean that she loved and maybe there's something in Olivia that she loves. Sean was what she needed/wanted then; Olivia's apparently what she needs/wants now.
But that's just what I think. And having never been in love, what can I know?
Tomorrow season four of Project Runway starts! HEIDI! TIM! YEA!
Also, the song I'm listening to? I love this song.
