Genius?

So I had another thought about "Adrift." Not completely new, but I didn't really go into in my other post.

While I mentioned that I liked Keller, I'm now feeling kind of off about McKay calling her a genius. Sure, it's implied that she's not completely new to Atlantis, but as an audience we've only known her for an episode and some minutes. With that we've only seen the regulars interact with her for that long. So does she deserve the genius comment?

I don't know. On the one hand, I can believe McKay saying it because they're losing Weir and emotions are heightened generally from the overall experience of being screwed again. But on the other hand, it took three years before he got close to calling Beckett a genius. And I can't really see Beckett not coming up with the same idea as Keller.

So is she going to be one of those new characters everyone automatically loves? Which I will admit I am fine with to an extent, since I already said I liked her.

I'm just going to blame weirdness on Rodney running too long on no sleep and bad news.
