To Everyone She Meets She Stays a Stranger

I'm starting to wonder whether or not the cat is leading a double-life.

She goes missing for a few days and then shows up affectionate and hungry and just as neurotic as she ever was. But she does not look like a cat that has been living in the wild. Instead, her coat is smooth and glossy, which prompted Mom to say tonight that wherever she's been someone must be petting her a lot.

But I do hear her at night randomly, so I don't know. Although we do usually see her at night, so I guess it's possible she's playing the part of someone else's cat during the day. Obviously she is the owner and we are all her pets.

I'm just worried right now she's going to drool on the keyboard as I'm typing this and she's butting her head against the back of my hand.
