Blue Sky Out the Window

annundrielIn Seattle for Independence Day. It's a good place to be, mostly because it's slightly cooler than home and also because I don't have to worry about being woken up in the wee hours of the morning to rake hay. There's also the whole thing where I can sit outside in the afternoon reading and not worry about being eaten by mosquitoes.
Today Mom is heading back over the mountains. She's seeing the doctor tomorrow (after re-scheduling several times) and has work. But she'll be back next Saturday to get me. Tomorrow Natasha is coming over to spend the night and part of the Fourth with me. Yea!! I'm excited! And then on July 13 she's coming to the farm for the weekend so she, EB, and I can go see Order of the Phoenix. Yea, again!!
So, really, with Mom leaving today and Natasha coming tomorrow and Kay and Greg coming back from Cannon Beach on Thursday, I'll hardly be alone at all here. Not that I'm really alone at all, what with the dogs and fish and birds. Speaking of the dog, Kirby is starting to look pretty heartbroken that his people aren't here. He's got the exact expression people get when they're being brave and trying not to cry. It is the saddest thing. Hopefully it won't get too much worse before they get back.
Saturday night Mom and I saw Ratatouille. It was delightful. And beautifully animated. The level of detail on everything was amazing, especially all of the subtle signs of use on things like the copper pots and pans. Definitely recommend seeing this one.
