I spent yesterday becoming intimate with my grandmother's ceilings. Or rather the spiders that had set up residence there. I have just one word to say: EW. Cleaning is so much fun. And that's my job for the summer! I get to help Grandma clean house and yard. I have no problem with this, I just wish people would stop reminding me all of the time. I can remember things. I have a brain believe it or not. And it's not that I don't love my grandma. I do! But everyone can be trying at times. Anyway, I'm working there to earn some spending cash for when I leave the nest. It's not a bad arrangement, I mean she only lives next door. In the past I used to tell her not to pay me. She's my grandma and as such she shouldn't have to pay me to do things for her. But I found now that I shouldn't argue.

Today I went to Moses Lake with Mom. Basically we went to drop off stuff at Good Will and go grocery shopping. I did some thinking on the prophecy in HP while she was in Wal-Mart and have several ideas that I'm going to think about some more before telling anyone else. Then while Mom was in Safeway I walked down to Hastings and bought Mort by Terry Pratchett and the soundtracks to The Hours and The Time Machine.

Speaking of which, Mom and I actually watched The Hours the other day. Very very good movie, if depressing. I'm amazed by the three leading ladies in it and would very much read the book. And now I keep thinking I should read something by Virginia Woolf.

EDITED because I took a quiz and wanted to share.

I'm really enjoying the soundtrack. I haven't listened to it all of the way through yet, just selections. I really like "Stone Language" and "Godspeed". One of the things I love about this movie is how well the music goes with it. I love it when the music really goes with the visual.

Well, the half-way point of HP 5 is still 400-some pages. A book in itself! I plan on re-reading it very soon and much slower, taking notes as I go. Ah, guilt deprives us all of a great many things. Lunch breaks are great for reading.

Sometimes there's just no time to watch movies. And where I live it's very hard to find anything other than mainstream films. But The Hours was terrific. If you get a chance to see it I highly recommend it. Depressing, but well made and interesting. It made the other movie we rented (The Four Feathers) pale in comparison. The Four Feathers was bubblegum for the mind compared to The Hours.
