How is it that I got, like, three and a half hours of sleep last night and yet I am still fairly awake now?
SG-1 - "The Road Not Taken"
I didn't pay as much attention to this episode as I normally do. I was trying to finish Indiana at the time and doing some serious multi-tasking. However, I did watch parts of it before it aired on SciFi. I'm sure it's not difficult to guess which parts those were.
RODNEY. GLASSES.
Yeah. It doesn't really get any deeper than that.
Except that Sam is very pretty, isn't she? And so is Vala. Loved the hug at the end. And the team trying to keep Sam company because they thought she was just out of phase. Aw.
Mom and I talked about the endless possibilities in alternate universes. And the fact that apparently being in one gives you free reign to drink and smoke because there are no repercussions. Way to booze it up, Mitchell! It's also an excuse to have bad hair.
We also talked about the fact that no one really seemed to mourn Sam. There was Rodney's brief sad face, but other than that...nothing much. But it's possible that they're all so used to living in that sort of society, with things like that happening all of the time, that they've become somewhat used to it. (I'm reminded of that scene in Brazil, with the explosion in the restaurant.) Another possibility is that with the other Sam there, it hadn't really hit them that their Sam was gone.
It was nice to see Hammond again. I generally don't mind Landry, but I would love to see how Hammond would have handled some of the same situations.
And did you notice Rodney was a billionaire with glasses? No? Yeah, me neither. ;) (No one will believe me after the caps.)
I was thrilled (when I first saw it and now) that Sam and Rodney were married. Finally, a different spouse! And, hey, something was up with Lorne.
Interesting episode. I enjoyed it.
Now, what does John do in this alternate reality?
