I'm back!

I'm back from Seattle now. I got back yesterday night around 10. Weekends away from home are nice. They are long enough to get away and short enough not to be vacation overkill. Spent Thursday through Monday in Seattle and had quite a nice time. Saturday was the solstice and I had thought about going to an all night party for it, but eventually chickened out. Which was fine. I had other things to do. Instead I went to Third Place Books and met up with Vinnie and EvFrodo from KD. That was a lot of fun. Got a fantastic treat from EvFrodo. A mini stand up Pippin in Gondorian armor. To put on my desk. *squeal* It's wonderful. Then I went to Cucina, Cucina for a graduation party with my family. It was fun.

But the best news would be that after three years of waiting Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is finally out. And I have read it. Am feeling a bit ambivalent about some of it, but overall I think I liked it. No, I did like it. It's just, and I don't think this is spoilery to say, it doesn't seem like the sort of thing I should have liked. And I don't mean that it deals with stuff I wouldn't read otherwise. I mean that it's dealing with things that are upsetting. This is not a happy book people. This is the turning point and things are can only get worse before they get better. This book is not just dark, it is downright bleak.

I'll be back later with more specific spoiler filled thoughts. But for now I need to organize said thoughts. They are all a jumble.

Welcome back! I'm glad you had a good time. Did it rain? For some weird reason the only thing I've ever heard about the place is that it rains a lot there.

Lol. Yes, actually, it did rain. Drizzled several times and poured once. Seattle is known for it's rain more than anything else it seems, but they do have nice weather too!
