I feel as though I've been involved in a press junket. Being interviewed for the Royal Review May 9th was the start of it. Yesterday I had a phone interview with a nice lady from the Tri-City Herald about the senior class. This was mostly because of the fact that I'm senior class president. But we did talk about Senior Projects and what I did and what I plan to do next year. THEN I had a scheduled in-person interview at the Columbia Basin Herald in Moses Lake to talk about my play, my plans, and life in general. They also took a picture. Eek. So, within the next week or so I'm going to be in two more papers! Whee!!

In other writing news, I feel really really good about this new story I'm working on. Mom even bought me a little notebook to fit in my bag so that I can write easily when I need to. We also bought the Buffy game for X-Box. Slaying is fun.

Thank you. It seemed very busy for about, oh, 4 hours.
The thrill has worn off a bit. Soon I'll be back to anonymity myself.

Had to think about that for a minute. It's been a loooong day.
But I can reply "aye".

Long day?
I slept for less than an hour before work.
And I smell like gasoline.

Yeah, okay, you win. I did nothing, except write, all day. Senior Skip Day and such. I didn't skip. I am lame.
Poor you. The smell of gasoline is icky.

Money is good.

Well . . . I've got this story idea I've been working on and I spent the day continuing with character and setting plans, as well as some basic plot things. Nothing's really "written" at the moment. It's about three pages of character description/back story plus a page of setting. Oh, and several little excerpts from possible various points through out the entire thing. If I do this right, I could have a trilogy.

Anyway, here's a little bit from the first part:

"But why?" she asked, her voice cracked and breathless. "Why would you do that? I don’t—I don’t understand."

"Of course you don’t understand. You could never understand. This," she gestured behind her. "This is beyond what you are, what you can grasp. That is all you need to understand. The rest—the why? That is not for you."

It was hopeless, all of it. What could she do against something she didn’t understand? Not much. She would be defeated and let everyone down.

"You came here thinking you could understand, think you had a chance. Ha!" She laughed gleefully. "You don’t, you know. Not at all. This is the end of all things. The end of hope; the end of light’ the end of you."

And that's the only part I'm willing to post at the moment. And that's still rough. What do you think? Is there any hope for a story out of that?

Which is why I'm so excited about writing it.

You should be.
I want to read it...

Oh, I have a book of poetry out now.
It's not mine, it's a collective, but I am one of the ten authors with 20 poems each.

I'm flattered. If it's half as good as it sounds in my head, I should have something.

I heard about the poetry! I'd love to read some of it.
