Prom!

I went to my Senior Prom! Go me. Mum made my dress. It's very pretty. It's purple silk with small embroidered bits of violet and such. And tiny bridal buttons up the back! If I was not so self-conscious I might post a picture (with Neesh too!), but I am so I won't. It was a lot of fun. Neesha came over around 6 and we proceeded to have dinner and get ready. Katie showed up with her mom so that Neesh could do her hair. Unfortunately, that didn't work out and poor Katie had to go with her hair down. Anyway, it actually took us an hour or two to get ready! I never thought it would ever take me that long to get ready for anything. Whee. It was fun though.

We arrived at Prom fashionably late and tried to decide who the sluttiest couple on the dance floor was. (There was a tie. Possibly a three-way. . . And talking about sluts that sounds really bad.) So, I had to get my picture taken with all of the seniors and then with all of the senior girls and then with Neesha. It was not long after that when we left and just drove. And forgot Flannery. Neesha was supposed to meet her at midnight in the parking lot to lead her back to Kelcie's for her party, but since we left slightly early and drove all around we kind of forgot. *feels bad* We were almost to Kelcie's when we remembered and so we drove all the way back to the school and Flan wasn't there. Oops. So back to Kelcie's to change and then back to the school and a phone call saying Flannery gave up on us. And right back to Kelcie's for her "party". Which consisted of Kelcie, her boyfriend, Neesha, and me. By this time it was like, 2 in the morning. We watched most (some?) of I Spy and Kids Say the Darndest Things! Then we drove back to my house and I didn't get home until 4.

Oh, but on the way home we passed some freaks on the road. They were stopped in the lane and began flashing their lights at us in weird ways. So we just kept driving and tried to ignore them. We spent the rest of the way looking back in the mirrors to see if they were following us. It didn't help that earlier we had talked about how this was the perfect setting for one of those horror movies. Two girls after prom, all dressed up (heels, long skirts, things not meant for running away, etc.) driving on (almost) deserted country roads in the middle of the night, hardly any moon, strange cloud cover . . . But I figure I'm the type of person who would just be too stupid to be murdered in a horror movie. The kind of person who is just makes jokes at the danger/is too naive to be killed. Kind of like Twoflower in the Discworld books.

Anyway, the night was a lot of fun. And now I can say that I've had the experience of my Senior Prom. Woo-hoo.

In other news, 4 days until my play (my baby, my prrrrrreciiiooouuusssssss) is performed. GAH! I'm v. v. excited. This means I get to miss Pre-Calc for several days to help oversee in-class rehearsals and costume checks. That's always a bonus.
