Back from Seattle. Thankfully the trip home took the usual approximate three hours and not the bizarre seven hours that Thursday's trip over took. We left at ten in the morning on Thursday and didn't get to my aunt and uncle's house until nearer seven. Weather was fine, but by the time we made it to Ellensburg, they were closing down the pass for avalanche control. So we spent an hour and a half having lunch and then took the old highway to Cle Elum where we waited in the Safeway parking lot listening to David Sedaris until 3:20 when they finally gave the all clear and let us continue on our way. This meant that we hit downtown Seattle at rush hour. Other than that, though, it was a pretty nice day. Even the sitting around waiting was enjoyable.

And, really, overall the whole weekend wasn't bad. Friday was really the purpose of the trip, but we had some fun, too. Saw Juno, which I absolutely recommend. It is every bit as good as everyone says it is. Then had tea and cake with Nana Fran. Saturday we met up with [livejournal.com profile] olivelavonne and had lunch and went shopping. Spent the evening with EB and her parents. I can't even complain too much about the crazy there, except...

EB and I share the same birthday, though we were born three years apart. One year, her mom gave us both tea cups that had belonged to her mother. The Thanksgiving before last, she asked me why I cried when I opened it. Apparently a few days ago she asked EB why I cried. And the thing is, I didn't. I don't remember it. EB doesn't remember it. My mom doesn't remember it. My aunt is clearly imagining things and she just will not believe us all when we say it never happened.

It's weird.

Anyway, EB gave me Brain Age for DS and now I'm totally beginning to understand the appeal of Sudoku. And I don't even like numbers.

So now I'm home and I just finished watching Persuasion on PBS. I'm still a little flaily over it. While it wasn't the best adaptation ever, it was new for me and Persuasion is my favorite Austen novel ever, so watching any decent adaptation is enough like curling up with a copy that I'm happy.

And of course there was a new SGA on Friday. Keep in mind it's been a couple of days and being with family there were some minor distractions.
