annundriel: (Jane (bj))
Yesterday I began training at the library. And now I've got a copy of the manuel for substitutes to go through.

Everything seems simple enough. My main concern would be technical difficulties when I'm the only one there. And also stumbling through Spanish. And the possibility of rowdy people. Because in Royal I really will be the only person there. At least the building's not that big. [livejournal.com profile] olivelavonne and I were talking and I told her that the whole library is roughly the size of our campus apartment, if not slightly smaller. Apparently, though, we're actually busier there than some of the slightly larger towns in the area.

Anyway, word has it everyone's really excited for me to complete my training so they can start sending me to the different branches. I am...excited.

Finish training Monday. Woo!

Earlier today I finished reading Agatha Christie's The Mysterious Affair at Styles, being Hercule Poirot's first case. Oh, how I love him. But I'd kind of forgotten what a doofus Hastings can be. As seen here: )

Becoming Jane is actually playing in Moses Lake. I was (and am still) a bit shocked. I honestly didn't think it would make it there. Wenatchee, yes. Maybe. But Moses? Wow. Mom brought it to my attention on Tuesday and suggested we see it Thursday after work. My response was, "What's stopping us from going tonight?"

So Tuesday we drove to Moses, had a nice dinner, got my cell phone fixed (yea!), and saw the movie. I don't care if (that) they made the whole thing up. I loved it. I had a feeling I would, even if it had turned out awful. I'm pretty forgiving that way. And Jane Austen is a big deal for me. She was the first author, the first literature I truly loved.

Plus, Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy are pretty to look at.

Now tonight Mom and I watched Year of the Dog. I recommend it. Molly Shannon is wonderful to watch.
