Randomness

Is it just me or is the week before finals sometimes actually worse than the week of finals? For me, finals week consists of sitting around waiting for the exams. But the week before is all about the rush to finish.

One of the reasons I like reading well written fanfiction (funny that I feel the need to throw that "well written" in there) is that it is about as satisfying for me as reading a book for pleasure and I can do it so much faster. If only the stuff I have to read for classes was equally as satisfying.

A guy came into the library tonight to pick up books from SUMMIT. Trish helped him, but I overheard it all because I was working on the other computer. The name he gave? John Shepherd. I paused in my work for like a second to not geek-out. And then when they left I closed out Trish's window just to see how the name was spelled. Now if only a McKay or Adama would show up...

Which kind of makes me think about the dream I had where Goldie Hawn and David Bowie wanted to check out books. I didn't get to help them, either.

Watched Walk the Line over the weekend. Loved it kind of a lot.

I'm feeling a little frazzled right now.

Oi, My Brain

My head is killing me. I think I might be coming down with something. :(

It occurs to me that Major Lorne on SGA seems to be becoming something of a fandom equivalent of the little black dress. I think I've read fic featuring him paired with just about everyone on the show. (Except for Carson. That would be weird. I feel a little weird about reading Beckett in a pairing, which is odd considering how I started watching the show. Oh, although I don't mind stuff about him and Cadman.) And Lorne works with everyone he's been paired with. It's very confusing for someone like me who does tend to loyalty in pairings.

Anyway. I need a Lorne icon. A Heightmeyer one would be nice, too. And just about anybody from Battlestar Galactica.

Speaking of, I think I'll go watch some of that now. I'd like to finish it before the quarter's over so I can return Kasey's DVDs.

Oh, I do have a question about Firefly/Serenity - People keep asking me, as if I would know ;), if they're going to be doing more movies/continuing the series. Does anyone know if they are for a fact? I thought I had read that Joss said he was done with it and am now very confused when people bring it up. I, personally, think that what we have is enough. I mean, more would be fine, but at the same time, why mess with a good thing?
