So I started season two of BSG )

Stayed up until two this morning to finish reading Michael Crichton's State of Fear, which I rather enjoyed. Some parts were a little laden with preachy environmental information, but all-in-all it was an enjoyable, interesting read. I always forget how much I end up liking his characters. This book makes me more scared of people who are ignorant and don't realize it. Not quite as good as his last book, Prey, I thought. I recommend Prey. It freaked me out then and it freaks me out now. That nanotechnology is kind of freaky. Cool, but freaky. Just because we can do it doesn't mean we should.

I don't care what people at work say. I love Amazon.com. It is a lifesaver for people growing up in the middle of nowhere.

Now back to my Philosophy paper. Woo. Hoo.

Got this in an e-mail from my dad. A lot of them are scarily accurate.

You Know You're From the 509 (area code of Eastern Washington) When... )

Especially like: (2) Your idea of a traffic jam is ten cars waiting to pass a tractor on the highway,(3) "Vacation" means going to Seattle (Portland, Spokane), (4) You measure distance in minutes, (5) You say pop instead of soda or soft drink. Although, Julia broke me of the habit of saying "pop." It's soda all the way now. Also love (17) and (20). I laugh when people butcher the pronunciation of "Wenatchee" or "Spokane." There was an ep of Fraiser where they butchered "Spokane" and it was so sad because they tried so hard to get Washington things right. There was also an ep of The X-Files where they went to Mattawa, but, um, it clearly wasn't to anyone who's ever actually been there. (FYI, "Mattawa" means "where is it?" Apparently.)

Obviously I am avoiding homework.

Hugh Laurie, I heart you lots. Watched him in Sense & Sensibility last night. Good times.
