"Spring" Cleaning
Jun. 15th, 2004 12:32 pmWell, I feel as though I've accomplished something in my time at home. I've gone through my bookcases and at the moment I seem to be getting rid of about, say, 65 books. Looking at that number by itself, 65 may seem like a lot. It's not. There are still a ton of books in my room, and then you have to take into account all of the ones that I bought and/or brought back with me from college. I really really need a library. Or a small shed.
I finished reading Sophie Kinsella's Can You Keep A Secret? yesterday morning. Cute and fluffy. Would make a nice fluffy movie, too, a la Bridget Jones's Diary. I got Mom to stop at the Royal library and pick up Dune by Frank Herbert because I feel like I should read it. So far I'm enjoying it, despite the fact that I'm constantly referring to the glossary in the back of the book. And we learned that the library system here now has *gasp!* library cards. Shocking foray into modern book lending.
Mom, Dad, Grandma, Tom, and I went and saw Prisoner of Azkaban on Sunday. Lovely movie, still. I did have a minor freak-out near the beginning when I realized that the WHOLE WEASLEY FAMILY is supposed to be in the picture from Egypt. Which meant I was trying really really hard to figure out where Bill and Charlie were in the pic, since everyone fan-wise is waiting to see them at all. I was also struck again, particularly at the end when Lupin is hobbling out of his classroom, how very lonely his life must be. There is now an even stronger urge to read Lupin-fic that fills in his gaps. As well as a very strong urge to read Marauder Era war-fic. Because Hogwarts' lock-down was obviously indicative of some serious trouble previously.
Yes, I am a nerd.
There are new pics out for the Farscape mini-movie thing. And pics of the male Firefly cast from the first day of shooting the movie!!
Tom and I are going to go see The Chronicles of Riddick later today. Hopefully it won't be crap. Hey, at least it looks visually interesting. And Gwen from Angel is in it, so there.
