Finally looked up my books for next quarter. I'm excited for both English classes. So far at any rate. There's a good chance I'll get into Mythology and end up wanting to bang my head against the wall, but you take that chance every time you register. It's not that I dislike the professor, it's just that, well, she made comic books boring. (In a throw back to that, I continue to love things that make fun of Scott McCloud.) But she knew relatively little about them and I think mythology is kind of her thing? So here's hoping. ::crosses fingers::
I will, however, almost definitely be banging my head against the wall in Ethics when we get to Aristotle. Although, hmm, actually it was Socrates I wanted to kick in the head and not Aristotle. I can't really remember how I felt about Aristotle. Bored, mostly, I imagine.
So, yes. Classes. Meh.
Tomorrow I'm going over to Dahlia's for New Year's and to finally meet Stee. Should be fun. Probably will be bumming a ride from Neesh because the boys here are DUMB. Really, really mind-bogglingly dumb.
First, the pseudo-cousin Nicholas hit a patch of black-ice the other night, rolled the diesel, and was unconscious for who knows how long. Somehow my brother got in on this, and they got some farmer to roll the truck back over. At which point they didn't tell anyone or see a doctor or anything. Besides which, Mom's Explorer has been acting odd, and it was figured out that it had something to do...with...um, actually I don't know exactly what the problem was, but the boys decided they could fix it and take the part out easily enough. Only Mom looked it up online and it turns out you need a special tool to remove it and now they've buggered something else up.
Now, I know that they're both experienced in some things mechanical. They've worked on trucks and tractors and various farm equipment before. But you really should make sure you know what the hell you're doing before you start trying to yank parts out of things you aren't experienced with.
I may not be looking forward to classes starting back up, but I will be *so happy* to get away from those guys. IDIOTS. In several ways.

Date: 2006-01-01 09:40 am (UTC)Thanks! Hope you have a good beginning to the quarter, too. And I *do* like Sharon, I just think the class has the potential to go "meh."
