No, not really. No corn smut this year. As far as I can tell...I think someone would have brought the corn smut to my attention.

Corn smut. Heh. Sorry. Really. It's just fun to say. (Corn smut!)

Had a really great, traditional-like dinner tonight. Corn on the cob from the neighbors, hand-mashed potatoes, salad, pot roast, green beans, beets. Mmmm. Frozen mini chocolate eclairs! Less traditional, maybe, but just as good.

I miss these types of dinners when I'm at school. Or in Seattle. They don't really go all out like that unless it's a holiday or a family get-together. Harder to do homegrown, too.

And now there's a big box of freshly picked peaches sitting right here next to me. They're huge! There's a couple in there the size of softballs. Mmmm.

Speaking of corn, they harvested all of ours the other day. No more worries about children of the corn or corn people or, hell, even crop circles. (Except the neighbor still has a field of field corn right next door.) Now I can see all the way down to north end of our property. Yea.

Yesterday Neesh and I went to Cave B and had lunch and desert and omg was it gooooooood. ::drool:: Then we went to Wal-mart and came home and watched Sci-fi Friday.

SG-1 - "The Powers That Be"

Honestly? Didn't really pay a lot of attention. Mostly 'cause my head was killing me. But also? It was a little boring. Mostly stared at the back of Daniel's head. (I like his hair.) Mostly my thoughts from what I can remember deal with Daniel being rant-y and and everyone being hot. The hot part was what was important there. I'm watching just to enjoy it, don't really want to think about it too much at the moment.

I was really just waiting for Atlantis to come one.

SGA - "Condemned"

Paid more attention here. No deep thoughts. Just hot. Everyone was dirty and bound with leather and hot. Loved the little Canadian/American McKay/Sheppard argument and the little "I'm a romantic" and smile exchange. Yea. And Shep almost breaking his knee. Laughed long and hard.

[The little "romantic" comment amused me last night as I tried to settle my brain enough to fall asleep. "Duet" finally made Sheppard see the light and John and Rodney finally hooked up and so the little smile? Was all about how he and McKay are finally relating on another level. Or something. ::shrug:: It could happen. And it was two in the morning. Of course, thinking of stuff like this is probably part of the reason I can't get my brain to SHUT the hell UP in the first place. Problem.]

Still kinda 'meh' about Ronon. I like him, but he also does almost nada for me. I'm more of a Sheppard or McKay kinda girl. Am also a bit scared of the Ronon/Sheppard that's starting to appear. I like my McShep dagnabbit.

Which is also funny, 'cause I'm pretty willing to read stuff where McKay's with other people (men, women, both) but I'm more picky with Sheppard. A little more hesitant. I don't think I've ever actually read anything longer than, say, drabble that paired him with someone else. I feel like I'm cheating when I do it because McKay/Sheppard is just so obvious to me. And somehow Rodney turned into the big ho in my head, not John.

ANYway. Ten bucks says we never see the gibbering scientist dude that helped them again. Five bucks says we never hear about the prisoners they helped escape. And wasn't that kind of a really bad idea? Some of the people there, like the head dude, really deserved to be imprisoned.

I could probably go on, but now I'm bored and restless and don't really feel like it. So there. :p

After Sci-fi Friday we just generally listened to music and looked up quotes and talked about stuff. And then I completely didn't get up for the meteor shower (whoops). Oh well. I'm sure it was lovely.

And now Neesh got me hooked on Jason Mraz. And I got her listening to Tom McRae. Decent music trade I think. :)

Corn smut!

ETA: Dude! Those guys on SG-1 are sneaky bastards. Watched "Space Race" on Thursday and was just now looking up who played Eamon and Warrick. And Eamon is also Fifth! And Chaka, once. But Fifth! I thought he sounded kind of familiar. I love that they're constantly re-casting people. :)

I'm now blaming my babbling tendencies on too many Sprees.

You know, oddly enough I have heard this phrase "corn smut". I can't remember what it was in reference to but it does raise a few questions.

So. Corn smut, huh?

Corn smut (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corn_smut) is a fungus. Not a very strange kink. In Mexico it's a delicacy. Having actually seen it (http://ohioline.osu.edu/hyg-fact/3000/3119.html) in person, however, there's no way I'm gonna eat it. It's kind of like...the Elephant Man and his deformities.

I don't think we had any this year, but I could be wrong.
