The Wisdom of the Elderly

Apparently there's a young woman who recently fell into a coma. I don't know when, I don't know how. She's four or five months pregnant. They're keeping her on life support so that the baby can have more of a chance of survival and they can deliver it nearer the due date.

Here's the question I was asked today. Although I'm thinking it was hypothetical. But she really meant it when she asked. I'm sure.

"I guess they'll do a C-section on her to get the baby. I suppose she can't push or do anything to help, since she's brain dead."

It was all I could do not to die laughing.

I'm guessing that was your grandma. She's very good at stating the somewhat obvious. It's a talent that I have too.

You guess correctly. The difference between her stating the obvious and you stating the obvious, is that with you? I can point it out and then we can laugh about it. With her it's more, "Um. Yeah, Grandma. I'm sure that's what they'll have to do."
