All television that isn't SPN suffers on Thursday nights because I am waiting impatiently for Dean and Sam and Castiel.
Although! TIM GUNN ON A TRAMPOLINE. ♥
The Project Runway/Supernatural crossover/AU thing is coming along nicely, though.
This time, seriously, the thoughts below the cut might be ridiculous. I'm kinda tired/wired and that's never a great combination. I might have better thoughts later. (Seriously, I feel kind of like a flaily idiot below the cut.)
Also, other than upcoming cast I remain UNSPOILED for the rest of the season.
Supernatural - "Point of No Return"
FUCK YEAH.
CASTIEL.
DEAN.
SAM.
BOBBY.
ADAM.
Do I actually need to have thinky-thoughts? Can I leave it at FUCK YEAH? And also THANK GOD?
Probably not.
Where to start...
- I have watched that scene of Castiel beating the shit out of Dean...many times. And I'm actually serious when I say mostly it was for research purposes because I'm like that, even when I'm going an alternate route. What catches me about it especially is the interaction at the end, the way Castiel's expression changes ever so slightly around Dean's "Do it. Just do it." (What is this, a Nike commercial?) I might be imagining it, but he telegraphs the unfisting of his hand with a softening of his mouth. Or something. I don't know, probably imagining it. But for me, I watch that and I feel like I can see him go from just anger to anger and sorrow. Or anger tempered with the fact that he's learning complicated emotional relationships from Dean and Sam.
I dunno.
It's also interesting that Dean doesn't even really try to fight back, other than defensive hands/arms and verbal "what the fuck?"-ing and the asking for mercy. Less interesting because, well, it's Castiel and I don't think he's given much thought (since the "I can throw you back in it" scene) to the fact that Castiel might turn that BAMF-itude on Dean himself. (Yes, BAMF-itude. I'm not winning at articulation at the moment. You get what I mean anyway.) So, surprise! Angelic wrath here in the form of a familiar, friendly face, totally kicking your ass.
You've also got the fact that, well, what's Dean going to be able to actually do to stop Castiel? Nada mucho.
Plus, it happens really fast.
But Dean just taking it goes nicely (if you can call it "nicely") with his "Do it" line. Dean's tired, and he wants something to be over.
- I would go write angry wall sex, but oh wait. Did that. ;) I might have to go do it some more, though. Yowza. Like, oh, maybe in the panic room. With Dean all making suggestive comments and Castiel slamming heavy doors.
- CASTIEL, YOU ARE ONE BADASS MOTHERFUCKER. That first fight scene? OMG. Angel has skills. Take your own advice, Dean; don't piss off the nerdy ones.
- It had to have cut, having Castiel actually tell him to his face that Sam has more faith in Dean than he does.
(Can you imagine, coming from the standpoint that they are clearly wrapped up messily in one another, the talk that could come out of all of this should everyone survive? I just...I love that Castiel is learning that the ones you care about can hurt and disappoint you, and that you can hurt and disappoint them in return, but at the end of the day...you're still going to carve a thing on your chest and take out five angels on your own because that's what you do. Even if some of it's ill-advised.
There's just so much packed between them.
I'm not really sure I got across what I was trying to get across there. ::shrug::)
- Dean/Castiel! It's beautiful! It's funny! It's angsty! There is a wonderfully layered relationship going on there and I love it like whoa. I bet you couldn't tell. I'm subtle.
And, seriously, the "blow me" line and Castiel's reaction along with the eye-fucking and Dean's "the last time somebody looked at me like that I got laid" (and then the looks afterward)...There was much flailing here. And Mom turning to me all o_O. It was brilliant.
(I've used the "blow me" line before on Castiel. Dean got blown. This amuses the crap out of me.)
- Speaking of my mom, beforehand we were talking about my PR/SPN fic which led to Mom envisioning Dean as the King of Mod. I said the skinny jeans would make his bowlegs stand out even more.
"He has bowlegs?" Mom asked.
"Uh. Yeeeees."
She has, apparently, not been looking lower than the face. (Understandable, it's a good face.) So she decided she'd look for them and then we basically never got to see them. Sad. I guess we'll have to pull out the DVDs and revisit an episode. Darn. ;)
- I love that Sam and Dean are working toward...not being the people who would sell the entire world to save the other. I'd say, "Zachariah, don't be so sure. They might prove you wrong." Except, oh wait, ZACHARIAH, YOU'VE BEEN OFFED. (I almost said, "You've been auf'ed," but that's PR slipping in again.)
He was an awesome villain, though.
- Was that Michael that contacted him at the beginning? When he says "boss", who does he actually mean?
- Bobby continues to break my heart. And then be awesome. And then break my heart some more.
- I was very happy with how the scene in the Green Room played out.
- I love Sam. Period. I love Dean, too. I love that they fuck up. And I love that they're working on that. And working on their relationship. (Not Wincest, just family.) They have never been healthy, and they're trying to get there.
And I am so happy that after two weeks of feeling really horrible about how this is going to go down, I feel slightly better. I hope that Dean's stopped rolling over and taking it. (He has been a little, I think, even when he was pretending he wasn't.) I hope that Sam's faith in him pays off. And that Sam can prove Dean wrong.
I feel like I should say more, but I'm tired of thinking.
- When Adam was all, "It's a trap," all I could hear was this: "I've been working on Admiral Ackbar from Return of the Jedi." It's a trap!
- Dear CW provider,
Please fix your sound issues so SPN stops sounding like it was recorded in a tin can. This is the third week and while you get used to it, it's a little weird.
Also, WHAT WERE YOU DOING WITH THE PICTURE TONIGHT YOU BASTARDS? YOU CUT CASTIEL OUT OF A COUPLE OF SCENES. DOWN TO HIS SHOULDER. YOU ARE DOUCHECANOES.
Ugh,
Me
- I was fine until I started thinking about the implications of Castiel carving that sigil into his chest. But I am cleaning to the fact that it only banishes angels, it doesn't actually, y'know, kill them. I'm just wondering what kind of problems having it actually on him might cause, if any.
So right now I'm thinking, he went in there, used it, and then we didn't see him again because the plan was to get the angels out of the way so Dean and Sam could do their thing. Once out of the way, Castiel still had to take care of them.
If I'm wrong, nobody tell me. I don't want to think about that.

So much yes on Bobby, JFC. Was that the same gun he used to kill his wife? Because if so that will make my heart crack a little bit more.
I am clinging to the fact that it only banishes angels, it doesn't actually, y'know, kill them.
I figured so, because we've seen Zachariah banished at least twice (that I remember?) via sigil, and he didn't appear to be any worse for wear. Of course, Castiel isn't at full angel-wattage, and presumably he ends up in the same place as the other angels, so he still has to fight them. So I need to know ASAP that's he's okay!
And the slashy moments between Dean & Castiel were BLISS. &hearts

Date: 2010-04-16 06:47 pm (UTC)Oh dear, I loved this ep so much I'm still jumping up and down!! (of course it may have something to do with having watched it not ten minutes ago XD)
Cas is/will be OK. His grace wasn't hurt, just sent to Oz.
Right?

Date: 2010-04-16 08:23 pm (UTC)So when Dean said "blow me" to Cas? Yeah, I thought of your fic xD I was a little disappointed when Cas didn't say "okay" xD
Does Dean remember that Cas tends to take words quite literally? With all that epic eye-sex, I guess he does xD
I'm sure Cas is okay and he'll be around soon.

Date: 2010-04-17 12:59 am (UTC)Then it was those moments with Sam and Dean and ofcourse Cas' chest scene, even though it was covered in a sigil and all...it was still his chest yo! I died a happy little death then.
My happier death was when Dean killed Zach and then when him and Sam (FINALLY) decided they were going to take the war to them angels.
And yeah...I am worried about Cas, I don't think him carving the sigil in his chest was a good thing. But I don't think he's dead, maybe just super injured? I dunno, the banishing could mean Cas is trapped somewhere until the sigil heals? I dunno maaaaan...
I wonder where Gabriel is...and that kid...the anti-christ (I'm really bad with names sorry XS)
If anyone was a good ally for their war thing, I'm sure it would be the kid....after all he's the anti-christ right?
Well, I'm not going to find myself the trailer for episode 101, (lol dalmations) and if you have any teasers, please share!!!!!

OK, I'll stop now. I should probably sleep, I'm starting to ramble. The point was, I agree with your thinky thoughts. :P

Date: 2010-04-21 09:04 pm (UTC)And that fight? Damn! In context, it all makes sense but it still hurts to watch.
Cas and Dean have such a complicated relationship that's full of ups and downs and they are constantly challenging each other in new ways. It's the best.
