Generation Kill Fic: Sand
Mar. 23rd, 2010 12:26 amTurns out I wasn't kidding about this being a slippery slope. In fact, someone may as well have covered it with a tarp, turned on the water, added dishwashing liquid to the mix, and shoved me down it. (Poor man's Slip 'n Slide, what?)
This came to me while I was writing Dean, Castiel, and bubble baths. Go figure.
Much love to
ginnith for putting up with the massive attack on her inbox.
Brad/Nate. PG-13. 225 words. Sand to eternity, and them stuck in the middle.
Sand
Sand gets everywhere, into everything. Gritty and pervasive, it was here long before them; it will be here long after.
From here to the horizon, it’s all he can see. Sand to fucking eternity, and them stuck in the middle.
Brad feels Nate shift beside him, knows if he looks he’ll see dirt-smudged features and something else that won’t wash away no matter how hard Nate scrubs.
Some things stay with you.
Bodies by the side of the road.
Fuck-ups made by command.
Not one goddamned jalapeno and cheese to be found.
The feel of your LT’s skin, sweat-slicked and smooth beneath the palm of your hand as you jack him off under the cover of darkness, quick and efficient because there’s no time for more out here. No time for you to spread him nude and wanting, for you to finger him open until he’s begging for your cock. No privacy for you to fuck him until all you can taste is his sweat on your tongue and all he can feel is you all over him.
No more rationing or poor commands, no more bodies.
No more sand.
Not like this. He’ll drag Nate to the beach sometime; try to teach him to surf. Watch Nate’s skin turn pink in the sun.
The sand between their toes won’t hold any history but theirs.

Date: 2010-03-24 07:42 am (UTC)And I love what Brad wants to do to Nate.
I think Nate probably loves what Brad wants to do to Nate.
And then Nate will just have to turn the tables on Brad. ;D

Date: 2010-03-24 11:40 pm (UTC)NO JALAPENO AND CHEESE WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO
But seriously this was so poignant and this:
something else that won’t wash away no matter how hard Nate scrubs
is just a great line, really, amazing work :)
Would there be a link to this Dean/Cas/bubble baths thing anywhere?

Hee. It was a drabble prompt: Cas discovers bubble baths (http://annundriel.livejournal.com/538307.html?thread=1373379#t1373379). It demanded further exploration and is currently off with my beta.

Date: 2010-03-25 12:13 am (UTC)The world is clearly FALLING APART. (Aaaand now I want jalapeno something-or-other.)
I'm so glad you liked this. Thank you! :D

I can direct your attention to the original drabble prompt/response: Cas discovers bubble baths (http://annundriel.livejournal.com/538307.html?thread=1373379#t1373379). I'm expanding it into something longer, and that's off with my beta.

I hope not a bad surprise!
