I don't really make resolutions for the new year, but last January 1 I decided that I would try to write a little something every day for a month. If I made it through that month, I'd do the same thing the month after and so on.
I thought if I just looked at it as months, it would be less scary and seem less of a chore and more of a manageable goal.
Now, it didn't always have to be writing that turned into anything. A lot of it didn't, though some of it is now making a reappearance and becoming newer, better things. I have notebooks filled with ideas and plot bunnies to work with now.
And I just realized that, omg, it is DECEMBER and as long as I make it through this month, I will have actually stuck to and done right by a resolution.
This makes me really stupidly happy.
