Supernatural - "The Curious Case of Dean Winchester"
Loved it. A little surprisingly, actually, since you never know how guest stars are going to do. Especially when they're playing a character you already know and love. But Chad Everett was fantastic. I never once thought that wasn't really Dean being old and crotchety. And a perve. Heh.
(Huh. He was in Centennial. Mom got that from Netflix a few months ago (she'd seen it originally, I think). I didn't watch it with her, but she did specifically make me watch a bit with a 27-year-old Mark Harmon. Holy moly. The first thing I recognized was his voice. Anyway.)
Sam was also particularly excellent last night. I spent a lot of the time freaking out over Sam's faaaaaaace. I love you, Sam Winchester, I really do.
Also, interesting that he used the fact that everyone expects the Winchesters to freak out over the potential demise of the other to his advantage and totally played the man witch.
- Man witch. Every time Dean (or anyone) said it I thought of school lunches and sloppy joes.
- Sam telling Dean he looked like Emperor Palpatine.
- The line about Dean and Bobby and Grumpy Old Men. Dean and Bobby's subsequent, "Shut up, Sam!"
- Sam got the clap! HAHA.
- I liked that the man witch wasn't just evil. He should compassion. He's not a killer. He let his partner go.
- As much as I loved old!Dean and as much as I knew nothing bad was actually going to happen to him, I was so happy to see Dean come walking out of that building. And then he DANCED. And then he CLICKED HIS HEELS. OH, DEAN.
- Dean and Bobby bickering. All the time. Love it.
- Dean and Bobby having a chick flick moment. Love it. I love that Dean is more actively letting people know that he appreciates/needs them. At least family-wise. When it comes to leading, he's come a long way from season one.
- It was tough seeing Bobby so defeated. Oh, Bobby. :(
There are several things I'm afraid will happen this season. One is that we'll lose Bobby. I really don't want that to happen. But, as Natasha suggested, I am going to focus on each week as it comes and not worry about where the season's going to end up. It's good advice.
With that last bit in mind, I want to say outside of a cut that I am actively avoiding spoilers that go beyond 1) the promos on TV, 2) promo pictures, and 3) episode titles. Sometimes I'm a real spoiler-whore, but I think I'll feel better if I just put my foot down and say, "No, don't go there." So. No spoiling me!

I took
olivelavonne to the bus stop today. It was fantastic having her here for a week. She needs to come stay that long more often.
Two of the puppies were taken to a new home today. This makes me feel kind of sad. But Dad just talked to the woman who took them this morning and she says she can't stop laughing. They really settled in right away and took over. Every time she looks at them she can't help but laugh. This makes my heart glad.
I went ahead and set up an interview with the massage therapist for the paper feature. Woo. And am now working on school board and NCIS fic. Which I am determined to finish this weekend so I can post it (next week, probably) and work on the other plot bunnies that are starting to pile up in my head.
