If anyone's interested, comment and I'll ask you 5 questions.
regenvogel asked me these:
01. When did you start writing and with what?
I think I've always been writing. Or at least I've always been making up stories. I remember being in elementary school and making stories when I finished with my assignments in computer lab. In fourth grade (so when I was about 8) I won first place in my age group for a Veterans of Foreign Wars essay contest. My teacher put me up to entering.
The first really big thing I finished (that wasn't an assignment to write something creative) was my short, one-act play Tempests & Tea Leaves. It was my senior project in high school (everyone had to do one and everyone had to then do a presentation to graduate. My presentation was longer than the play at over an hour. I didn't know I could talk that long about anything!) The drama teacher trusted and believed in me enough to let me write the spring performance and then co-direct it. It was amazing. Occasionally I worry that I'm never going to get that again.
02. Are you a spring-, summer-, autumn-, or winter-person?
Autumn, definitely. Then spring. I prefer the transitional seasons.
03. Do you believe in astrology?
This is a great question because I don't really know. On the one hand, not really. But on the other hand...described and attributed personality traits are bizarrely similar. And sometimes my horoscope is weirdly close.
So I guess my answer is...I don't know. I don't put much stock in it, but I find it interesting all the same.
04. What's your living-situation?
I live at home on a farm with my parents. It used to be just the three of us, but my younger brother has recently moved back. He was living in another house on our property, but then our cousin started living there again and my brother couldn't deal with it. There were four years there where I was living in Seattle going to school for the majority of the year.
I like living at home because it's close to all my various jobs and it's free. (Because my parents are awesome.) And, really, my parents are awesome. We all get along really well. Mom and I do a lot together. And when I'm not working, I keep the place in order, which keeps her from going crazy.
05. What author inspired you?
I'm sure most authors that I read inspire me in some way. (Took a whole class on intertextuality.) But Jane Austen is a big one for me. Oh, and Agatha Christie. (Tempests & Tea Leaves was heavily influenced by my love of mysteries, particularly Agatha Christie. Also the movie Clue.) Also Anne Perry, mystery-wise. And then there's John Donne.

Date: 2009-04-30 04:35 am (UTC)I wish I got to see you more, too! What's it been, a couple of years now? There are several places along Snoqualmie and Stevens Pass. We've done stop-and-drop kinda things at North Bend. Have you ever been to Leavenworth? It's fun and touristy and nestled in the mountains.
I do plan on being in Seattle the first couple weeks of July. Sara and I have talked about meeting up. Maybe getting Natasha there, too. It would be nice to see you!

3. If your life were a TV show, on what network would it air?

Date: 2009-05-01 06:02 am (UTC)2. I love the wide open spaces, big skies, the scenery, the wildlife & the pace & isolation of living in the country. I did like some things about the city; There was always something to do, you could get bubble tea down the block, yanno. But I think i will always choose & prefer living in the country. It seems richer. It's closer to my heart. :)
3. I would be kind of really happy if it was on BBC/Channel 4.
4. My favorite time of day is the period encompassing the gloaming, sunset, and twilight. Also any time a full moon is out. :D
5. I like that I can help people in pain not be in pain any more. The changes in people are really interesting when they don't have to carry that around physically or emotionally.

Date: 2009-05-01 06:14 am (UTC)One of my favorite things to do is going out on a night with a full moon when the sky is clear and just...look up and take it all in. I love that feeling.
And, okay, moon doesn't even have to be full. Give me a clear night sky in the country and I am happy.
