Well. My second day of orientation is almost over and I'm still alive. That's an accomplishment I think. I don't have any experience with other schools or anything, but it seems like they are just running us as much and as hard as they can. It's all been good, but I want some ME time. Which is actually why I'm updating LJ now.

So let's see, what have I been up to...? Yesterday was dorm move in for all freshmen. Basically we were allowed to move in from any time between 8 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon. At 3 we then had our First Year Student Welcome in the Campion (the largest dorm on campus) Ballroom. Nothing much happened there. All of the Orientation Advisors, hereon out known as OAs, introduced themselves. Then we met up with our OA in our Small Groups and got to learn about the other people in our group and get to know the OA. (If I ever mention Kristin here, that's my OA. She's really nice.) We had a nice barbecue picnic/dinner in the Quad outside with our parents and that was nice. And then the parents left and I was sad. :( But THEN there was the OA Cabaret! It was soooooo funny! All of the OAs did a show for us with skits and singing and dancing. It was all about life at SU and it was great.

Today was Serve Seattle Day. All incoming freshmen filled out an interest form thing to see where we would most like to help the community. Today I ended up cleaning a park with the Adopt a Park group. It was actually a lot of fun. You could really see the difference we had made by the time we were through. So that was cool. Then there was a lecture called "Beer, Booze, and Books" and a play/skit thing called "Real World SU". The lecture was good. The play/skit thing was mediocre, if that. You couldn't really hear anyone. But, you know, oh well. There was another Small Group meeting after that and then basically free time. Right now there is actually a dance going on in the Student Center. From 9 until midnight. I went for a little while with a girl that went to high school with my roommate. She's cool. We stayed for, like, 20 minutes since that sort of thing is so not my, well, thing. We ended up in the lounge on her floor with a couple of girls from Hawaii watching Miss America and cheering Miss Hawaii on. It was fun.

And now? Here I am being lame and writing all of this out on my LJ to totally clog up all of the friends pages I am on. :) Tomorrow I'm going on an Urban Invasion with my Small Group and we'll explore the Seattle area. (Not like I don't already know it.) And when we get back there is a soccer game to go to. But I'm not going to go. Vinnie from KD is going to try to come and find me and pick me up. Then I get to go with her to the Baggins' Birthday party for a couple of hours. Yea!

I do miss all of my friends. And my home. I'm trying not to think about it too much. Right now it actually sort of feels like I'm just at a hotel or something. It's very strange. But I'm getting used to it! And learning to take free stuff wherever I can get it.
