SGA - Outsiders
Meh. It was fine. I don't know if the episode was slow because it was actually slow, or because
olivelavonne was here and we took a break from Due South to watch it. And right now, for me, DS is more fun.
- Mostly I was distracted by the main Wraith's evil facial hair and the way it moved every time he talked. It was distractingly silly.
- Was there a queen on that hive? Do all hives have a queen? Do they usually?
- Carson tells funny stories about Rodney. Enough that the woman who's name I can't remember recognized him. I enjoyed the looks John shot Rodney during that whole scene.
- I liked that Rodney thought up going to the mines. It was a good idea and there was no pointless arguing or anything. Sometimes they push the bickering to a point where it's like, "Now wait a minute, they've been a team for five years. They obviously work well together. Stop it." Like that whole thing with Ronon and Rodney being kind of weird with each other in "Tracker."
- John should know better than to leave Rodney (alone or with some other non-main character) by now. Bad things happen. Like unconsciousness and kidnapping.
- John was badass. I love when John's badass. Badass and worried.
- Plot? There was plot? I...can't remember what the resolution was anymore, except that Carson let the head Wraith feed on him and it killed him because he's got the infection or whatever they're calling it.
- I felt a little like Carson should give Rodney a break in the hive. Though never actually escaping by himself, Rodney's been in enough hives to be at least somewhat familiar with the layout. I did like the line about exploring and not wandering aimlessly. Such a fine line.
- When Ronon and Teyla first arrived at the 'gate and found Wraith there, Teyla told John they could take them if John and Rodney joined them. I just liked that Rodney was specifically included. That they both got mentioned and weren't just lumped into, "you, the rest of the team."
I feel like I end up saying, "Because Rodney is capable, too" a lot.
- where's Carson living, anyway?
