annundrielFolks in Wenatchee for the next couple of days for doctors appointments and such. When you have to drive an hour to get to these places, it's generally just easier to get a hotel.
Speaking of hotels, I had to explain to Mom that they're not the same as motels. What with the higher prices and the lack of mysterious substances on the remote controls. She and Nana Fran wanted to know how I'd know that. David Sedaris told me, that's how.
This afternoon I went over to Royal to see Heather and her daughter, Aurora. This is the friend that's fighting for custody. Aurora is two months old today and darling. I held her and played with her and my sweater still smells a little of baby. The good baby smells, not the unpleasant ones.
Tomorrow Heather goes into court again. Like last week, I'm going to be there. There's absolutely nothing I can do there and I could just as easily stay home and wait for a phone call, but I want to be there for her and her family. This is just about the shittiest situation to be put through and the more support they can get, the more they can know that we're all pulling for them, the better.
