Caught the last ten minutes of "Cyberwoman" tonight and what I want to know, all I really want to know, is when Jack and Ianto became more than boss/teaboy. Because there is something going on underneath that whole "Go kill your girlfriend or I'll shoot you" conversation and I want to know what it is.

As I should be in bed but AM NOT ARGH, I'll just chip in that to my certain knowledge, either Gareth or John or one of TPTB has definitely said at some point that Jack and Ianto weren't tapping each other at this point in the show. Gareth gave someone on my flist a slightly complicated answer to the question "why did they get it on then?" (i.e., how did they go from "OMGKEEL U NAO" to lovey-dovey) - what it boiled down to was like a Stockholm Syndrome thing where, for Ianto, Jack's the one who took everything that mattered away from him, so he ends up sort of fixated on / focused on Jack and on trying to prove that he's loyal, good, worthy, valuable, needed or whatever. That's his take at any rate! As for Jack, we know he had an eye on Ianto from the start, at least - was attracted to him. Maybe it's as simple as the fact that, if someone Jack desires makes a pass at him, he'll pretty much never say no!

I suspect that's a totally rambling answer and I will now send myself straight to bed! But I can only echo what you say - COME BACK TORCHWOOD WE MISS YOU TERRIBLY!

I had a feeling there was nothing physical going on between them before "Cyberwoman," but that scene always just...I don't know, gets to me. I guess it's the intensity of it.

I've read the Stockholm Syndrome thing before. And it makes sense. Especially, I think, in conjunction with their little nods at the end of the ep. I mean, obviously Ianto came back. And obviously Jack let him. I was somewhere on the internet yesterday and someone asked, regarding the beginning of "Small Worlds" specifically and I guess the rest of the series, "How could Jack touch him after 'Cyberwoman'?" It kind of bothered me. I think Jack's been around long enough and seen enough to know just how fallible we are. And to be forgiving. I mean, he forgave Owen.

And that's gotten a bit rambly and jumbled I'm afraid. Basically, yes, I can see Ianto and Stockholm Syndrome and Jack and never saying no. Doesn't mean there isn't a tiny part of my little fangirl heart that wouldn't mind a bit more fluff there, but I'll take what I can get. And I have a lot of fun watching them be dark and complicated, so it works out.

But I still just really want to know what's going on in Ianto's head.
