SGA - "Miller's Crossing"

Would Rodney please open his eyes and realize that John is completely in love with him? I mean, hello, he just talked some guy into sacrificing himself so Rodney wouldn't die.

John's face. Rodney's face. Pretty much from the moment Rodney said he wanted the Wraith to feed on him until the end of the ep. Especially after Wallace was killed and Rodney comes in and the camera lingers on John before the scene ends.

Oh, this show makes me so happy sometimes. Seriously. The two scenes between John and Rodney just amazed me. Really wonderful. There was so much there between them. Just...wow.

And John alone with Wallace? That was intense. But I'm not sure Wallace needed to be pushed too hard. He'd lost his wife, his daughter, was going to jail. Basically felt he had nothing. And I know that I should probably be a little more interested in the right versus wrong thing, except I can't see past John's need to protect Rodney from death. But, yes, that was a pretty dark place to go with John. A dark place that made sense because he will do anything to protect his people.

Which makes me think of, um, "The Ark" and his continuous "Even Rodney" lines. You can't pull that after you've done something like this.

For the first half of the episode I was kind of like, "Wow. There's not a lot of John and Ronon so far" and when they were there it was kind of subdued. While Ronon was still pretty background by the end, it's like they were waiting for the end for John to come out and say things.

Let's see if I have other things to say other than flailing over John and Rodney.

Randomly:

- Zelenka losing his will to live.

- Agent Barrett! I always like him.

- "Uncle Mer" and "Hey, lady." Aw.

- John was helping Madison with her beads! Hee! And Madison's ginormous cookie earlier.

- Mom said during one of the commercials that it was interesting that non only can Ronon speak English, he can also apparently read it. I pointed out that he has been on Atlantis for two years, he probably picked it up. Or asked to be taught it. Or was taught it without asking. Either that or he was just flipping through those folders and just looking at the pretty squiggles.

- Ronon and Walter! Funny thing is, trademybike and I were just discussing Bingo night on Atlantis this morning.

- I was kind of glad that the plot had to do with something other than some big company wanting to use the McKay brains for their own evil devices. Instead it's just one man trying to save his daughter.

- I could have done without the mention of Katie. On the one hand, I was fine with it because Rodney was like, "What? Whatever" and it lead to Jeannie saying he wasn't as attractive as John Sheppard. Which only made me think of the things Rodney could say about how, "Yeah? Well, John's mine. And he's hotter than Katie. So there." On the other hand, I know they've been dating for a year, but I only know it because I've been told it. You know? What I mean is, seeing them together I just do not see a couple that's been dating a year. Like, at all. And maybe that can be written off as Rodney being a busy, busy man, but I don't think so. It's just weird.

But then it also lead to:

McKAY: We're about even when it comes to looks, right?
SHEPPARD: Who's been lying to you?
McKAY: I'm serious.
SHEPPARD: So am I.

So that was good, too.

- John's "daring rescue."

- Rodney casually saying that he broke both of Jeannie's legs.

- Rodney trying to convince the Wraith to help. Oh, Rodney.

- The Jeannie/Rodney hug and the "I love you"s and the car. Oh, siblings.

I'm sure there are other things. And maybe I'll think of them later. But I'm kind of blinded by John and Rodney at the moment.
