SGA - "The Seer"
So I was basically reduced to a big flailing mess by this week's episode. The teaser alone left me with a barely controllable need to grin. Most of that came from those new chairs in Sam's office and John and Rodney looking so comfy in them.
So, randomly, the stuff I can remember:
- Team competence.
- Wraith humor!! OMG. That was great! And reminded me of Teal'c and his Jaffa joke. (Also, I love Teal'c's laugh.)
- The whole "it's not like we're dating" thing. Ha.
- John and Rodney had a moment! An actual, honest-to-goodness, let-me-comfort-you moment! In which John used his lovely, quiet voice to tell Rodney it wasn't his fault the Replicators were destroying all humans. Oh.. It was sweet. And I maybe melted a lot.
- I absolutely love it when they use that golden lighting around John. It's very good lighting for him. He just glows and is lovely.
- Rodney looked good, too. The uniform, the confidence, and the brilliance.
- And, well, everyone was lovely. It's just a pretty, pretty cast.
- Teyla needs to tell her team she's pregnant. Sooner rather than later. The longer she waits, the more I could see them being a little upset by her keeping it a secret from them. I mean, I can understand not being ready to tell them. But at the same time, they're her team.
- I liked Sam. And Sam and Rodney. Especially the whole "Can you guarantee that?" and Rodney's chuckle and then "No."
- Speaking of, Rodney had a lot of little moments in this that I loved. I can't think of them specifically, but I remember there were several moments when he said or did something that was hilarious and very him but never tipped into embarrassing or cringe-worthy. Oh, Rodney.
- Rodney's scientific conversation with the Wraith. Ha.
- I shouted "duh" at the TV when the Wraith started firing on each other and everyone was surprised. It just seemed like that was exactly what they were going to do. And right before that I was really worried John would start firing drones and they'd be screwed.
- It'll be interesting to see if and when Sam's vision occurs.
- Ronon in the lab and the whole "I was expecting a big gun" thing. He's seen what they can do with technology and coding and no big guns. His attitude just struck me as a little funny there. But, y'know, they were working with a Wraith and he was basically right there, so who can blame him?
Really loved this ep. And I am really looking forward to the next one. Which apparently will be in two weeks. But, oh! Rodney and Jeannie and kidnapping! I've heard some stuff about this one and I've been waiting for it, so here's hoping it lives up to expectation.
