SGA - "Lifeline"
I enjoyed tonight's episode. I thought it was nicely paced and fairly solid. Although I'm wondering if they're not falling back on that sort of double-blind narrative device a little too often. Especially with the Replicators. I mean, it's fine. It works. But, y'know, it can happen too often.

There were a bunch of little things I liked or found interesting:

- Sheppard didn't show up at the 'jumper "merely" to "prod and belittle."

- Sheppard put Teyla in charge. It's only right that she should lead. And John trusts her.

- Dr. Lee makes me laugh.

- Sheppard and McKay and Weir all excited about the robot/nanite-thing. And Ronon being all "whatever" in the background.

- Interesting that they kept their little nation patches on for this trip.

- "Hold up, Chewie." Haha. John called Ronon "Chewie." Wonder if JM had anything to do with that? He compared Ronon to Chewie once, or something.

- When they get back to the 'jumper and Rodney's found the base code? Wow, John is pretty with half of his face lit by the window.

- Rodney telling Ronon, "Hey, get out of that!"

- "Space is quite vast." Oh, Lee. Kinda wanted to thwap Ellis for his "you don't say" comment. Yes, I understand you've got a problem, but don't take it out on the scientist. And that reaction is pretty much just because I like Lee more.

- McKAY: Let's jack it up and see how far we can penetrate.
SHEPPARD: Penetrate?
McKAY: What?

HA. Oh, John. You are twelve.

- McKAY: You don't believe me but you believe her?
SHEPPARD: No offense.
McKAY: Offense taken.

- "I like simple." Of course you do, John.

- Seriously, John couldn't leave Ronon to watch Elizabeth? That wouldn't have worked? Because if he took Rodney with him, that would leave someone more battle-ready to watch Elizabeth. Besides the fact that it was really Rodney's job to do.

- "There's only one slot."

This is why he should have taken Rodney.

- McKAY: Which means they're as good as dead.
SHEPPARD: We can hear you, you know.

- I loved the glimpse of smug, smirking Rodney in the cell that turned out to be in Oberoth's mind. That was a hot smirk.

- "It never ends with you, you know?" Should you be used to that by now, Sheppard?

- Lee and his comment about re-entry and how it's not really re-entry if they've never been there. Heh.

- "Nice kissing!" This and the penetration conversation? Pretty much made me giggle with delight.

- Teyla and Ronon in Weir's office. OMG. That was touching. Just...lovely moment.

- "If she's out there, I'll find her." Oh, John. You big, optimistic hero.

As for Elizabeth being gone...Well, I'm less upset about it than I was last week but still more upset than I was when it first became clear she wasn't going to stick around at the end of last season. She's not my favorite character, but I like her and the actress and sometimes the writer's didn't make her annoying or useless. Not that I ever really found her annoying, mind you, but for a woman that was supposed to be a top diplomat? Not the best people skills ever.

Anyway. It will be interesting to see if they bring her back and, if they do, what the Replicators have done to her. Because that was a little creepy when they all kind of crowded around her.

I also realized while watching tonight that I'm actually kind of looking forward to some scenes between Sam and Rodney. The only time their interaction has thrown me was in "The Pegasus Project" when Rodney just seemed off. But I loved them together in "48 Hours," "Redemption," "Grace Under Pressure," "McKay & Mrs. Miller," and "The Road Not Taken." They work well off each other. Or, at the very least, DH and AT can be fun to watch together. So there is that. And since Rodney was very competent in the, oh, few seconds they were on the screen together, I have hopes that he won't revert to the McKay of "48 Hours."

And next week's ep? I was kind left with my jaw hanging because, omg, that was the Chairman (Mark Dacascos) from Iron Chef America in the promo! I kind of missed what the promo was about, I was so surprised.
