Every challenge is on crack this season. It seems like instead of doing something fairly normal for several episodes and then doing something crazy, they've really just gone for the more crazy things. (Speaking of crazy, I loved Heidi's, "There's a thin line between innovation and insanity." OH! Snap, as they say.) Maybe they all just seems crazier because it's summer and I don't have classes and work to distract me between episodes so they're all fresh in my mind.

Mostly I was unimpressed. I haven't been swayed in my now established opinions of the designers.

- Tim looked like a Lego person with the construction hat and vest on according to my mom. I agreed. His head is interchangeable.

- I suspected either Michael or Jeffrey was going to win. I thought it might be Jeffrey because the color and how wearable his outfit looked, but I'm not at all surprised they gave it to Michael. After all, I believe his was the most innovative. He used several different types of material and tried to use them as fabric. Like the judges said, he really thought about it.

- I really liked Jeffrey's. It would have been nice to see him win one, even if it was just to keep him from getting overly whiny that he hasn't. Loved the different color and the way it all worked on the model.

- Surprised to see Alison go. I didn't think her design was the worst on the runway. The back was interesting, and it had potential to be something really special on another model.

- I thought Vincent was gone. He should be gone. It was just boring and blah stiff. My first thought was that it looked like a Jackson Pollock painting and, well, I'm not a huge Pollock fan anyway. And, please, stop telling us all that it "excites" you and gets you off. TMI.

- Didn't care for Angela's design. It just looked awkward to me, especially how the part on the outside was disconected and stiff compared to the part on the inside. I do like Angela though. She just seems generally pleased to be doing things.

- Kayne's...was awful. Just. Wow. Really bad. BUT I knew they wouldn't send him home. This is the first time he's really messed something up, and even though it was kind of frightening it still showed that he has skills at structure and whathaveyou.

- Loved Laura's dress. The "FOR NUTS ONLY" worked on several levels and, yes, made me laugh. I think Jeffrey hates her stuff so much because it is so very far removed from his own style.

- Robert's was cute. Um. That's all.

- Really liked Uli's dress. She's one of the designers I'm hoping makes it to the top three. Other than her, I think I'd like to see Michael there as well. Third one? I don't know yet.

Other stuff? Kayne and Robert are pretty hard on Laura. Laura and Michael are very funny together. It was nice to see everyone react to Alison's leaving, although what was Laura doing jumping at Vincent like that? I wonder if he said something and it got cut out...

Meanwhile, SciFi has started playing SG-1 from the very beginning on their daily reruns. Every one's so young looking! And freakin' adorable. Watched "The Enemy Within" today and loved that you can see Daniel and Sam discovering someone of like mind in each other. Of course that happened in the pilot, but I missed it this time around. And, oh, Hammond gets so much love from me. Like Jack, I don't think about Hammond not being around until it's brought to my attention that he's not there.

I really love Laura. She's like a classy female Santino. She just tells it like it is. Vincent's a retard and he sucks and he's crazy and the whole getting off thing freaked me OUT.

I want an icon with Tim in the lego man outfit.

I really like Laura, too. She's another one I would like to see make it far and I think she definitely has the ability.

And Vincent...::shudder:: Every time he said it got him off I went "EW!" That is NOT something I ever need to know. I finally went and listened to all of Tim's podcasts and wow Tim does not like him.

Icons of Tim the Lego man (or really just Tim) are definitely needed.

Huh, I haven't listened to any podcasts. He doesn't like him eh? I'm surprised Vincent has stayed on so far. He dress looked like he wrapped paper around and glued shit on it. OH WAIT. Thats what he did! Maybe they're keeping him on for the creep factor.

You should definitely check out the podcasts if you can. I'm going back through season two now, just because I can. And, yes, Tim is definitely not fond of Vincent. He's even got a bit of an impersonation. Listening to him talk about Vincent for this episode definitely makes it clear. Apparently Vincent was inspired by his daughter's art work and kept talking at Tim about art and the art's integrity and his daughter and blah blah. Tim makes a point of saying that the daughter is only seven.

So the tension in the room as Alison left was because Vincent really really thought his design was one of the better ones and everyone else was like, "Are you fucking delusional?!" Hopefully he'll be kicked off really soon. EW.
