Listening to David Hewlett on Australian radio is just the way to start the day. :D

Now I'll go to Astronomy, where we'll talk about jovian planets some more, with a ridiculous grin fighting to escape.

Didn't get quite as much done this weekend as I would have liked, but oh well. Did introduce Natasha to Muse, though. And watched You Can't Buy Me Love and Sixteen Candles. Didn't get around to Cry Baby though.

Veronica mars last week was fabulous. Spoilers ) And Joss Whedon! Oh, Joss, silly goofy-looking man.

First off, Sour Skittles and cinnamon gum do not go well together. This I learned from first hand experience. Even if it's just the lingering taste of cinnamon, it is a BAD IDEA. Bleh!

I'm looking at the "Ten Trading Spaces Bedrooms" on MSN and Doug, Hildi, and Frank pretty much have me going WTF. I remember watching the ep with Hildi's Tiffany-box inspired bedroom. Crap! Crappity crap crap. Someone give Hildi some sedatives and lock her in a padded room. Vern's room doesn't disappoint, neither does Edward's or Laurie's. I know Edward and Hildi and Doug are still on the show, but what happened to Vern and Laurie? Show's not as much fun without Paige, so I just don't watch anymore. Not when I could watch While You Were Out with Andrew Dan-Jumbo and Leslie Segrete who is my hero on these shows because she can do *anything*. And then there's Debbie Travis on HGTV and she's pretty cool, too. Although sometimes her taste is a little iffy.

And how the hell did I get to talking about home improvement shows anyway? For someone who doesn't own a home, I watch way too many.

Anyway. The point of this post, sort of, has to do with Astronomy. And Stargate. Because classes are much more fun if I can connect them to the things I love. During lab today, my Astronomy professor's phone rang. The ringer is a cat meowing, she explained, because it drives her dog crazy. And also it's a nod to Schrodinger's cat in her bag. A joke I would not have gotten if I didn't watch SG-1. So, hey, knowledge. Limited, yes, but whatever.

And in class we talked about the satellites of the solar system, focusing on the satellites of Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune. I didn't know Callisto had a feature (a crater I think) on it called Asgard. Which, besides making my geeky heart leap, prompted me to look back into some Norse mythology. I am a happy, geeky girl today.

Also, I can't take the term "volcanism" entirely seriously. I *know* what it refers to and I understand it and can spell it and so on, but every time it's used, for a split second my first thought is "Spock?"
