It Burns!!

It's too frelling hot! I swear to God, my eyelids are sweating. *turns fan up higher*

Yesterday when Tom and I got in the car after the movie, it said it was 109. Which is a load of crap as it was really 100.

Anyway, I've been doing a far amount of movie viewing lately. On Sunday, Tom and I went and to Moses and saw Around the World in 80 Days. It was a cute, family kinda film and I enjoyed it way more than I should have, for which I blame Steve Coogan and Jackie Chan. Yesterday we went and saw Dodgeball, which was hilarious. Go see it and support Alan Tudyk. Now. Mom also rented Miracle and The School of Rock in the last couple of days and they were both really good. Have also started watching 5 Days To Midnight. I really like Timothy Hutton and Kari Matchett. They were both in Nero Wolfe, y'know, so it amuses me to no end to see them working together again. Anyway, I think I'm about half-way through the 5 hours of tape. So, yeah. Enjoyable viewing experiences all around.

In other news: I kinda want to be elsewhere. Like, back in Seattle maybe. Because at least Kay and Greg have air-conditioning. And I don't have to worry about whether or not it's okay to wish it would rain. Because over there? Hay isn't really an issue. And, well, it's Seattle, so you've gotta expect rain. There's a part of me that's debating just taking the car out for a drive when Mom gets home, just to use the AC. And get out of the house, because that is a bonus.

So far I'm really enjoying Dune, but I'm only about 150 pages into it. I find it amusing that you get names like "Thufir" and "Gurney" and then you have names like "Jessica" and "Paul". It just...amuses me. Mom suggested it was because Frank Herbert didn't want to get too weird on people. Whatever the case may be, I'm enjoying it.
