New icons are fun. Really. All of mine are slowly turning into Farscape icons, with loyalties still toward Firefly, Buffy, and Angel.

When Mom was over weekend before last, I stayed up late and watched an episode of Farscape. Next morning she came up to try (keyword) to get me up and said, "So, did you watch some Fire-escape last night?" Hee. It's now becoming a joke between us. 'Cause it's funny. And it's even funnier because of the following exchange from Ben and Claudia's chat.

[Ben] Isn't Farscape that show that died off quietly?
[Ben] I mean... Far... what?
[Claudia] fire-escape

So, yeah. I'm amused.

Mom's coming again on Friday. 'Cause I miss her, and she misses me. I think we're going to go see The Day After Tomorrow which I personally think kinda looks like fun. Or rather, as much fun as a disaster movie can be. IMDb.com says Ian Holm is in it, bless his little Hobbit heart.

Olive and I are going to go see Shrek 2 in a bit. I saw it on Saturday with Kay, Greg, and the kiddos. I thought it was HI-larious. The adults in the audience were much more receptive than the kids. There were some really excellent bits. But, y'know, sometimes I find it hard to buy Rupert Everett as a straight romantic lead, even an animated one. It's not his fault, he's a great actor and I love him. He gets bonus points for the accent.

Anyhoo. I have a shiny new story idea bopping around in my head. Shiny!

Oh! I almost forgot! The campus library has graphic novels! I didn't know this until I was shelving last night and I had to shelve Hellboy. Graphic novels, people! Alas, no Neil Gaiman. :( Mostly "mainstream" stuff. Or rather, mostly Marvel stuff. They did have several things by Alan Moore though, so it's not entirely hopeless.

I <3 graphic novels. They are my "secret" addiction.
