Last quarter Dr. Smith invited me to apply for membership to Lambda Iota Tau, or LIT, the "International Honor Society for Students of Literature." For awhile I wasn't sure if I should apply or not due to time and money, but I finally decided it wouldn't hurt to try. They'd even refund me if I didn't make it.

Dad just called because I got a letter at home from Dr. Smith and the English department. I'm in! Despite the fact that my submitted essays had a few grammatical errors I noticed only after turning them in.

But I'm IN!

I am ridiculously pleased with myself right now.
