Smallville Rambling
Feb. 3rd, 2005 11:22 amSmallville can suck ass so much sometimes and make no sense at all. It can have only five minutes of Lex (for someone with third billing, he's not getting much screen time) and not a single scene between Clark and Lex. And still they can have *two* scenes that make up for the entire crap-tasticness of it all.
Oh, Smallville, you pain me so. Good thing I love you anyway.
I think it's kind of amusing that I didn't really care all that much when Clark found Alicia, but I got teary at the beginning of the scene with Chloe and Lois. I feel bad for Clark because he's going to beat himself up about it, but other than that...meh. Not much.
Oh, Chloe. I knew it would be you. I knew it would be back during season three. There are two ways this could go. Chloe could a) die or b) leave. They already did the leaving thing with Pete, although that wasn't so much his choice. Sometime earlier this season, and maybe while I was watching season three with Tom, I said that Chloe was going to find out and then they were going to kill her off. I still think that's where they're heading. I *really* hope it's not. Massive amounts of Chloe love.
Meanwhile, since coming back from Christmas break/hiatus there hasn't been a single scene between Clark and Lex. Granted, there has only been two new episodes. Infact, I don't think Lex has even left his office in the mansion. How sad. Lex needs to get out more. With Clark. There had better be some more Lex soon and some more Clark/Lex interaction not of the OMG-you're-so-not-my-friend-you-jerk kind. Maybe the writers/producers are thinking "Everyone thinks they're gay! No more scenes between them!" Which would suck. It's important that Lex and Clark continue to have some contact or else when the final big non-fixable thing happens it won't be all that big of a deal. It'll be, "Oh dear, Lex went evil." "Where was Clark?" "Having coffee with some random meteor-chick who happened to see him use super-strength." ... It just won't mean anything, or the same thing, if they're so disconnected they don't even talk to each when it all finally hits the fan.
I'm highly disappointed that there was no scene in which Clark and Lex talk about this whole Alicia thing. There should have been one. In the past there would have been one. Hey! I've just remembered. When Alicia jumped Clark in his bed during season three, Clark went to Lex and talked with him about it. Lex would remember that. Clark should have visited him.
Oh well, that's what fanficiton is for.
But Chloe! She's gotten some really great scenes this season. I hope they don't frell it up.
Hey! The music playing over the final scene in the graveyard was Minnie Driver! She's not too bad.
