Well, went to Dahli's and watched The Red Violin. Got me to thinking about how utterly stupid and childish creative oppression is. Any oppression really, but creative in particular.

To be able to express one's self through art is really the only true way of defining yourself. You don't have to be an artist. What I mean is, to have the freedom to listen, read, watch what you want to, allows you to become more yourself. To be forced into liking something you wouldn't naturally appreciate on your own is saying, "No, you can't like that. You must like this and behave this way."

I'm not trying to get into society and what's "cool" and not. It's just . . . up there with my anger at book burning. It's the same thing. To censure a person in that way, to restrict people from enjoying it, is one of the greatest violations of a person.

Now my head hurts . . . *pout*
