Some People Suck To Infinity

annundrielI was at the court this morning for at least two and a half hours and absolutely nothing got decided about custody. The lawyers wanted to settle without going in front of a judge, but that's not going to happen now. The deal on the table was absolutely ridiculous and would have basically been like giving the father's parents full custody. Which is not fair or right. He wanted the baby aborted, didn't want anything to do with the pregnancy, hasn't really wanted anything to do with the baby since she was born. There's no reason they should get more time than the mother.
It's just really, really frustrating. Especially because her lawyer was telling her that the deal was the best she could get and she should just go with it. Which is complete and utter bullshit. He just wanted to get out of there and go to lunch.
So it's back to court next week with a judge. If nothing's going on, I plan on being there.
I can't even imagine what my friend's going through. I mean, this is leaving me emotionally drained and I'm only on the sidelines. So I'm going to thank some deity that I don't have to be thinking about this and go try to find something to cheer myself up.
