Last weekend I went to Kay and Greg's just because I hadn't been there in awhile. It was nice, but Friday and Saturday Tris and Callie had sleepovers, so there was a lot of loudness while kids ran around.

Watched Transamerica. Really enjoyed it. Felicity Huffman was scarily good. And I mean that in the best way possible. The only other thing I've really seen her in is Sports Night and this is so very, very different from that. Talented lady.

Let's see, what else have I been watching? There was Heroes last night. Let's just say that I'm intrigued.

Still working my way through the second half of BSG 2.

SG-1 - "The Quest, Part 1"

I missed the first fifteen minutes of the episode, but apparently I didn't really miss anything important because I followed to story well enough. At least as well as I've followed any of this Merlin/Ori/Morgan thing they've got going on.

- I really love the interaction that's been happening between Sam and Vala. They should really have a Sam and Vala episode. That would be neat. Loved Vala patting Sam's arm when they made it through the maze. Which was actually a clever trap I thought. Actually, I thought all of the traps were pretty clever.

- Was surprised when Adria showed up, though I suppose I shouldn't have been. Did I miss suspicion of the old man in those fifteen minutes I didn't see? I knew something was up with him when they had to sacrifice something into the chest, but I didn't know what.

- Yea, Ba'al! Ba'al's my favorite Goa'uld. Probably my favorite bad guy in the SG-1 'verse. (I don't really have one SGA 'verse, partially because they haven't really established any individual baddies besides Kolya. And, well, Kolya is pretty awesome.)

- When I first read about it I thought the dragon thing was kind of lame. I've changed my mind. It's not the weirdest thing that could have happened. And why not have a dragon? It's science fiction. And there really should be more alien-looking aliens.

Overall I enjoyed the episode. "To be continued," of course. Not at all a surprise. And I'm not particularly worried about them being doomed. However, since it's their last season, anything could happen. You can kill off main characters in your last season. I doubt they'll do it, but there's always that possibility. And, hey, in this 'verse even if you do die you usually come back later. And naked.

SGA - "The Return, Part 1"

- I love Rodney when he lectures. That's really not a surprise there. The applause was great. And the name of the bridge.

- O'NEILL: I like maidens. And voyages.

- John, you can't say that you've got hot pizza around Rodney and not actually have hot pizza. It's unfair to get his hopes up like that. (Also, mmm, pizza.) What was with John's weird finger-drumming at the table? It was a small detail on the screen, but I couldn't help watching him doing that instead of Rodney. He seemed very laid back. Smug.

- As cute as the boys are when they're excited, I was really annoyed that it didn't even occur to them that the Ancients might actually be Replicators. HAVE YOU LEARNED NOTHING? Apparently not.

- Rodney's eagerness to speak with Helia reminded me of Chaya even though his reactions were completely different in both situations. He's just so eager, as many of them are, to actually meet and talk with and learn from actual Ancients and Chaya was just one big disappointment on all of those levels. She lied about who she was, she wasn't at all helpful, and she had absolutely nothing to offer anyone except for John. And yet Rodney's still eager to meet Ancients. He's very child-like sometimes.

- Seriously, the whole "We're taking back Atlantis" thing should have at least made them question. These people could have been Replicators and everyone on Atlantis basically rolled over and let them step right over them. Why didn't they fight harder to keep their place there?

- John, Teyla, and Ronon. Rodney really should have been in there, but oh well. Good scene. If they ever really have to leave Atlantis for good and go back to Earth it is seriously going to suck. I will probably cry. Loved the end of this, though. I don't think Ronon hugging John was OOC, but I also think that JM just through that in there at the end of the scene. At least, that's what it felt like to me.

- Rodney, Carson, and Radek. Yea, Zelenka. I understand Carson being a little upset about the whole thing, because it's kind of like high school and leaving those people that you see every day behind at graduation, but at the same time I'm kind of like, "What?" All of the members of the expedition will be returning to Eart. It's not like they won't be able to see each other. Actually, the part where I don't understand the crying probably stems from the fact that I didn't cry at graduation because, hello, they're a phone call away. But Carson's always been a little emotional.

And, okay, so it's a big world and they'll all be busy with their own projects and things won't be the same. But still. But doesn't Carson end up working at the SGC? So doesn't that mean he'll be seeing John a lot of the time? And I'm sure the other people will be close by somehow.

- Elizabeth's got a huge empty room. I wonder what it looked like before she packed? Or she had trouble filling it with things. Oh, possibly symbolic. (Or not. Lit classes make me want to analyze.)

- Loved the forehead touch between Teyla and John. But wasn't it a little weird that that's the only goodbye we got in that scene? Like, that Rodney didn't say good bye to them? That sat a little weird with me. But he did say "hi" to John when he joined them in front of the 'gate. I thought that was funny.

- So they get back and John's leading missions in the Milky Way and he misses having Rodney on his team and then we hear Rodney's voice and all I can think is, "Please let him be talking to John and not Carson. Please." And he was and the scene probably made the episode for me. Rodney's not happy with what he used to want and he's lonely and he misses people. But not John. Because he's talking to him and he's going to see him the next day for dinner. Obviously they talk every day John's not on another planet and have dinner whenever either of them can get away.

I love this show. Lots and lots.

- And they have dinner and shit hits the fan and Landry didn't actually call Carson in. (Poor Carson.) And John actually defended Rodney when it turned out it was possible the Replicator problem was partially his fault. And then there was the scene with the hypothetical planning. Hee!

- Elizabeth and Lee were hilarious.

- Poor Siler. Not safe from anybody.

- I love that their plan is working. And that John didn't listen to all of Landry's message. And that everyone is so happy to be reunited.

Good, good episode. I love that this ended on a pretty positive note. We're not wondering (like we ever really wonder) who's going to die for once. They've got a plan and they're implementing it. Go them. I will admit that I was a little worried that maybe something would happen to O'Neill and Woolsey (mostly O'Neill), but I suppose they wouldn't really do that.

So now the Stargates are on hiatus or whatever and Sci Fi will start doing BSG and Doctor Who. Both of which I enjoy, but I'd really rather have a full, uninterrupted season of Atlantis sometimes. When will the show be back on TVs the US? January? March?

Thank god for Canada and the internet, that's all I can say.
