GBP
And what does GBP mean? Gratuitous Buffy Post. With Angel included.
And why is this a GBP? Because I've been reading WAY too much Buffy fanfic the past couple of days and I just got the second season of Angel on DVD. Mom, Tom, and I have watched the first three episodes in all of their broody goodness.
I don't hid the fact that I am a Buffy/Spike shipper. I also don't hide the fact that I honestly believe there was something they could have done with that whole angle instead of where Joss and his team went with it. In season 4 when Spike's new feelings first emerge there are signs that he really does care for her. But he's still evil-vampire-guy. There's just an extra little softness there when Buffy is around. (Uh oh...losing my point. Where'd it go?) I seriously think this could have continued. When Buffy is brought back from the dead the first time Spike sees her...That look on his face has real emotion in it. That's not just him thinking he loves her. That's him loving her.
I should probably admit that I haven't seen all of that season (only up to Tara being shot), nor have I seen season 7. But, now that I'm actually typing my thoughts out, I can see how the route the writers took may be the right way. Spike is a killer. Spike would push at Buffy to open up. He wouldn't understand. At the same time though...Urgh. I don't know anymore. I'm having conflicting thoughts now. I guess I just wish Buffy/Spike could have been more like Wes/Lilah. (Because Wes/Lilah was terrific in oh so many ways.)
Also, while listening to the soundtrack of the Buffy musical I was struck by something. During "Life's a Show" Buffy is surrounded by the Scoobies, and yet Spike is the only one to step in when she is about to self-destruct near the end of the song. And he shows up late in the song. Is this a sign that he's the only one that can reach her? Is he the only one brave enough to really try?
Anyhoo. I need a Buffy and/or Angel icon. I think what I'd really like is still slightly goofy Wesley circa Angel season 1 and 2. I just have to find some. Or pictures.

I think over all the couples on that show I was all for Oz/Willow. I've been trying to find an Oz/Willow icon for a while now without luck, but I know they make a lot of Buffy/Spike ones, so you should be okay. I recomment you check out

I loved Oz/Willow too. But I also adore Tara. There are certain groups/couples/singles that are hard to find. Like I said in my entry, I'd love a good younger Wesley icon, but it's just about impossible to fine. You might try
