And then Dahlia stayed for the first SPN ep of the night, "It's a Terrible Life." I was highly amused.
I was also amused by a lot of "The Monster at the End of This Book." I'm looking forward to the DVDs.
Anyway, Project Runway. I wasn't too impressed with the all-stars challenge that took place before the season premier. For one thing, it could have been cut down to an hour. For another, Korto should have won.
As for the new season, I'm looking forward to more. I wish the Lifetime website were a bit more helpful. I'm not particularly impressed with navigation-wise. Where are my runway photos?
Things that stood out, since I can't honestly remember everyone's designs:
- Christopher impressed me, honestly. Judging solely from his previous garments, I thought he'd produce something blah. He didn't. Though color-wise it could have been a little better, imo. I was surprised he won the challenge.
- Johnny is lucky Tim Gunn is there in the work room and not Tom Hanks' character from A League of Their Own. There's no crying in fashion! (Oh, man. Andre would have been so screwed if that were the case.) I mean, fifteen minutes in and the man was already freaking out and talking about throwing in the towel. On the one hand, poor guy. :( On the other, it's a competition! Of course it's hard!
I would have really liked his design had it been done in black.
- I love Louise just from the garments we saw in her introduction. She really reminds me of someone, though, and I can't figure out who.
- Irina's design was one of my favorites and I was mildly surprised when she wasn't kept on the runway for the final judging.
- I had a feeling Ari was going home. I mean, I see what she's doing, but I don't particularly care for it.
- There is something about Mitchell that reminds me of Rider Strong. I'm glad they kept him in. I thought his original design had some interesting bits and things just sort of fell apart for him when the models showed up.
Heh. His answer to the question, "What are your weaknesses as a designer?"
"When my construction gets too complicated." Yeah, I should say so.
- I liked Ra'mon's design a lot.
- Not hating or even seriously disliking anyone yet. I'd say it's too soon to tell, but I immediately disliked someone on Top Chef: Las Vegas last night so clearly that is a lie. (Michael Isabella, if anyone's interested. Apparently upholding the practice of masculine chef superiority in the kitchen. Ugh.)
Also, did anyone else see Tim on The Daily Show? I love the man, I really do.
