It is way too insanely hot here. And dry. Oooh, and Mom just moved the big fan so it's pointing directly at me. Air! Moving! Cool! I hate that it's so warm. And that we don't have AC. And I hate even more that I can't wish for rain because of our alfalfa and hay. Doom it all. I want rain so bad. And a nice rain too. The kind of rain that isn't too hard or too soft but just right.

I can't imagine how hot the cats and dogs must be. Bleh.

The Heat

Okay, so wait, I'm confused. Why can't you want it to rain? Alfalfa and hay? Huh? Lol, I think I missed something.

Maybe you should try a rain dance? I mean, you know, aside from looking absurd while doing it, if it worked, hey. A dance well spent. =P

Speaking of cats and dogs, heres a wierd fact for you. While cats and dogs sleep they loose heat. So their temperature goes down. How crazy is that? Wouldn't that be great for humans during heat waves and the such? Oh well.

I can't want it to rain because rain can be a bad thing. My family farms and we grow a lot of alfalfa. The alfalfa can't be cut if it's too wet. Once it's cut it can't be raked and baled if it's too wet. You want the alfalfa just wet enough, from dew, so that it doesn't fall apart yet dry enough so that it doesn't combust from heat and moisture once it's in a bale. Also, the more it rains on hay (alfalfa after it's cut) the more proteins get leeched out of it. This is bad because it's the proteins that the cows need to make milk. And that is why I can't want rain. Fun, huh?

I'd be so tempted to go stand in a field and do a rain dance. No one would see me, so I'd only feel stupid. And, hey! Rain if it worked!

Lucky cats and dogs. I wish I lost heat when I slept. Sheesh.
