The Burrow

Just thought of another Half-Blood Prince thing I'm a little iffy about.

I'm fine with the added action at the Burrow. HBP was less on the action for the majority of the book and took place in the past a lot, so wanting to add some explosions for the movie? Sure, okay. Though strange then that they took out the battle at the end which could have been pretty interesting on screen...

Anyway.

I do, however, have one problem with the Burrow being exploded like that. And it has to do primarily with why JK Rowling didn't kill Arthur Weasley in, um, Goblet of Fire was it? Order of the Phoenix. (Thanks, regenvogel!) If I remember correctly, JKR said she didn't kill Mr. Weasley because the Weasley's are Harry's surrogate family; he'd already lost one father figure and would lose Sirius later. That's just taking away a lot of Harry's family.

Exploding the Burrow hits me as something similar. Hogwarts is Harry's home. The Burrow is Harry's home away from home. Now I'm sure it'll be fixed by the next film (though I'd have liked some follow up or repercussions in this one), but with Hogwarts becoming unsafe that's just cutting Harry's support system back that much more.

Something to think about. And now to get ready for work.

the scene was necassary just for the look on mrs. weasley's face... that was omg.

think she wanted to kill arthur off in ootp though... when he's bitten.

I really liked the chase through the field before they blew up the Burrow.
