Court

I spent part of this morning at the court house to see more of my friend's custody battle now that her baby is six months old. Things went in her favor; the father will now have every other weekend, Saturday to Sunday. Instead of the previous every day until she gets out of class/off work and every other Saturday. So, good for them. But everyone wins, really, since the father will now have more quality time with his daughter.

But honestly? My favorite part was when the judge told everyone off. It was like Judge Judy or something! Amazing. Basically, the opposing lawyer was being impressively nit-picky and questioning credibility and both lawyers started their professional bickering and the judge finally stopped them and said, "This case is getting ridiculous!" and that the arguing was a waste of time. Oh, I was so happy.

Sitting through the hour and change, I couldn't help thinking that it would be kind of interesting to just show up at court in the morning, sit in the back, and just watch all day. I told Mom, "I bet you could pick up some interesting stuff that way."

To which she replied, "Communicable diseases?"
